Because that's what boxing is. if he wants to gamble, then he should retire. If you want to talk an ACTUAL gamble, you give the guys who so easily claims he could beat all the chance to take away from his shine.

If he was HALF the star that Oscar is, while claiming to be twice the star he is, he'd sell the PPV by himself. True boxing superstars don't need others to sell PPVs. He does.

I can't believe Cotto-Gomez did the worst ratings ever. I mean Calzaghe-Kessler was shown on that station and some Americans don't even know that they exist.

cal/kessler has the lowest ratings of all time. not Cotto/Gomez.

I think that's a very good post, it explains why Floyd has this PPV obsession. Of course the P4P #1 should do the best PPV numbers, but if he couldn't for any reason, what would that say?

Because if the guy with 200 bucks is recognised as the best craps player out there, then you have to beat him.

you've done like a complete 180, you started out defending everything floyd does and now you're pretty objective praising and criticizing. i commend you for that.

Good point. Sometimes, JUST sometimes, the guy with 200 bucks can put a dent in the high rollers bank account. THAT'S ********.

Contrary to what some believe, Judah/Cotto only did 160,000, Margarito/Cintron I did 29,000, Cotto and Margarito on the same card this year on FREE HBO was one of HBO's worst ratings...ever. Margarito is deemed a "killer", killers are supposed to be must see tv, heck millions churn in every week to watch actors play killers on CSI and other crime shows, but when a real life one is before us we dont tune in, something is fishy with that. I know I wouldnt sit down and gamble with someone who doesnt bring anything to the table, props to Floyd.

if floyd is such a superstar and his fights sell so well why would he give a **** what the other fighter sells. did oscar ever sit around saying "you know i cant fight so and so because he dont sell ppv".hell no because if he did the floyd fight would have never happened in the first place. before oscar gave floyd a piggyback ride floyds fights were wack as **** having fans walking out before the fight was even over and not selling PPV numbers. he basically accepts that fact cause he wont fight a fighter who cant put up mega numbers cause he cant do it either.
