Sorry. Call me the Floyd of the Forum. I don't respect people who tout bums to hype up a resume.

That's like me hyping up Roy Jones' resume by using Otis Grant as an example. Dry your eyes, you'll get over it.

It's not his fault the Ottke fight never came to fruition but he should've fought a Tarver, Glen Johnson, hell even a David Telesco. For years, he complained of making weight...but only moved up to fight a 43yr old. One who wouldn't have fought in his prime. And now he considers Jones...something he wouldn't have dared to do in his prime either.

But I have much respect for him - I do think many people underrate him. He's an excellent, at times brilliant, fighter. A solid lefty whose ability to adapt and underrated power have carried him to an undefeated record. He'll enter the Hall of Fame...but never the pantheon of All-Time Greats he could've had...if only he dared.
      Oh, not another novel.

It sums up everything when you consider that Calzaghe has been a pro since the early nineties and has managed to dodge so many notable fights - quite impressively yellow actually

Only an idiot or a complete fanboy would say Joe has a VERY IMPRESSIVE or GREAT resume. His resume is average, with lately becoming above average.....that DOES not mean he's not a good fighter or even a great one. Just in terms of resume, it's generally average....for the most part of his career it's been mediocre, but now he's putting some better wins to even that out...

This is pretty much what I said in the first post. You don't need to glorify his resume - it's solid. Not great, but solid. Just don't hype it up. And you KNOW you're hyping it up when you start putting names like Mario Veit on there...unless you really think that's impressive.

It's amazing that Joe has been a pro since the early 90s and never failed to win a single fight.

Joe never dodged anyone, several fighters like Hopkins, Ottke and Jones dodged him.
