Good post. Is that how your media used to describe Calzaghe then? It would certainly explain a lot.

Yes, the media over here has been unfairly negative about Calzaghe. I've learned to not take anything they say too seriously, because I understand the anti-British prejudice that's behind their comments.

But sadly, some people believe everything they hear.

So for example, how was he being decribed immediately prior to the Jeff Lacy fight, or before that?

He was pretty much ignored, actually. He wasn't given any p4p consideration, he was considered a non-factor in pro boxing. Most people believed Lacy would destroy him.

Finally, what you said being accurate doesn't make it IMPRESSIVE. Beating some 12-0 bum named Delaney ISN'T IMPRESSIVE. Neither is beating Mario Veit twice, or a whole bunch of other crap you threw in there to try and hype up his record. It's a solid record, it doesn't need bull****. And it is what it is. Good, not great.
Didn't read through the entire thread (yet), but wanted to give you the name of that Pole:
              Albert Sosnowski.

              He's 43 and 1, not 43 and 0.

And the difference between his opponents and Calzaghe's opponents is huge. ALL of Albert's opponents ******, even the guy he lost to.
