I think Tommy just moves so extremely well, caught opponents on the end of his long arms, I can't see Floyd outboxing him being so much smaller in comparison. He'd have to first get in Tommys range then catch him, but in doing that he'd leave himself open to that blockbuster right hand. It depends really. If Tommy believes he can steamroller Floyd he'd go after him, a la Duran, and Floyd would be able to pick him off with counters. But I just dont see Floyd beating Tommy, I like both of them a lot but Tommys dimensions are freakish and I think a couple of big right hands and Floyd would go into a bit of a shell, let himself get outworked like in that first Castillo fight in a scrappy contest. like chico was right? wake up boy. n'dou was taller than floyd, floyd's left hook and right hand counters took care of that. floyd's left hook is accurately thrown, tall fighters are perfect for floyd.

corley had floyd on cloud nine for a split second only to be floored several seconds later. zab caught floyd with a quick counter shot when floyd wemt for a body shot, which was a good shot, but floyd recovered very fast, this showing me he was only caught off balance, and floyd adjusted to both of them very well, which is why he dominated them the way he did. with corley, floyd fought as if he wanted ti show he could ****, and corley threw a looping left hand and caught floyd a few times with it. floyd just showed how good his chin was because right afterwards he hurt corley. zab never wobbled floyd, he caught him with a good left hand that sent floyd back to the ropes, but then zab miseed nearly every punch that followed the left hand, and floyd went to his body right afterwards, and broke his ass down, which is why rounds 5 through 11, he dominated zab. tommy hearns doesn't have faster hands than floyd or zab for that matter. castillo may have buzzed floyd but never hurt floyd one time in that fight, and this was a floyd who was fighting hurt to begin with.

again, floyd would be too much for tommy imo, but i respect your argument a lot.

oh yeah, and before i forget, sugar ray was as gifted a fighter as it gets, but all around floyd outshines him, and think about this, ray leonard wasted a lot of punches on tommy and tired himself out a lot in that fight, floyd chooses his punches very strategically which is why he is so accurate and has been his whole career. he's a smart puncher, and a great timer with his shots, he doesn't tire himself throwing flurries like ray did, he fights poised and throws his punhes in a composed temperment.

and, by the way, kilrain, floyd wouldn't fight tommy hearns the way he fought corley, he'd be too smart for that, he adjusts very well to different, which is something tommy did also, but floyd is just too ****ing fast and sharp.

Damn bro where were you earlier..I was getting jumped by these guys claiming Tommy by KO...lol

I have yet to see a good case made for Mayweather in this match-up.

Here is a nice highlight of Thomas Hearns anyway...

Hearns soundly handling the masterful counter puncher and defensive artist Wilfred Benitez.

No offense but you sound like a person that has never watched a Hearns fight in your entire life.

Sure but I doubt I will see Floyd knocking out any cruiserweights, light heavyweights, middleweights and light middleweights in that highlight vid, actually not even any welterweights.

You can talk about Floyd defeating 'tall' fighters such as Corrales (a great warrior) and N'Dou all you want but the fact is that those two fighters were about 20 lbs lighter than Thomas Hearns and not on his level even in a p4p sense.

Leonard took a huge risk by coming forward against Hearns and had to absorb some devastating punches, as a result the damage to Leonard's eye done by Hearns almost forced him to retire early.

I don't see Floyd taking that kind of a risk and I doubt he could accomplish anything even if he did with his small frame.
We are talking about a 6 inch difference in both height and reach here...

MayweATHER jr. will perform better againts SRL and Duran.

Hearns long Arms and SUPERB boxing from the outside is the perfect weapon againts Floyds stance. plus one well timed right hand can end it.
