Granted any fighter has a chance, but besides that tiny .01%, Mayweather would just get destroyed by Hearns. Everything he could try would fail. Getting in the pocket would be his best bet but he can't stay there with Hearns, plus he'd get hit on the way there, and even in the pocket Hearns would still just be too devestating.
    Hearns stops Mayweather.

Mayweather is a much better fight and I wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather took a win. But you have to remember, Hearns' career started at 147 and went up to Cruiserweight. Mayweather started at 130 and finished at 147. (154 doesn't really count IMO)
How does Thomas Hearns' chin factor into a fight with Mayweather? Hearns was hurt and/or stopped by Ray Leonard and big, strong middleweights^ like Barkley, Roldan, Kinchen and Hagler.

Yes he is , Tommy didnt even know to hold when hurt , great fighter Hearns and I believe he is to big because Floyd is not a true welter so the fight is unfair , but Tommy is not a smarter fighter than Floyd .

Hearns, by EARLY brutal KO (following 2 knockdowns, early in the 2nd or 3rd round).

Hearns was too big, too quick, and too aggressive for Mayweather to handle. I think Mayweather gets caught early and cold, and finishes the fight in the prone position.
And Hitman was a finisher. One he hurt him, it's all over. I also think Mayweather is a tad chinny, but that's just a su****ion. I've only seen him get caught flush once, and he was hurt pretty bad. This was by Corley, for heaven's sake.

Incidentally, I'd also pick Sugar Ray Leonard over Mayweather, too. Every day of the week, and not just because he beat Hearns. Ray was exactly the type of fighter that can hurt Mayweather, multiplied by a factor of about 10. Think of a Mayweather in the ring against another version of himself that isn't afraid to stand toe to toe with anyone, can take a BRUTAL flush punch, and has about twice the power.

Hearns is the better pure boxer and thinker in the ring. Mayweather is smarter when it comes to tying up when in trouble. Big difference. Mayweather is not out smarting Hearns.

Itys sad how a boxer with the skills that Mayweather gets discredited......sad.

Hes one of the greatest boxers ever and talent wise hes second to none....people give credit...as soon as someone mentions Floyd with another great..the other guy ALWAYS will destroy Floyd....get real.

Cant agree on the smarts mate , Tommy even with every advantage could not out smart a plodder like Barkley , Tommy was a power fighter not a tactition of any kind , I loved Hearns but he was not a smart fighter at all , if he was he would have beaten Hagler , he lost to him the only way he could lose, in a firefight , Tommy was not smart or a good thinker , same thing to me .

                    Hearns Never Got Outboxed

thats why sugar ray leonard had to fight him aggressively
as for mayweather I see him getting knocked out
the way hearns knocked out duran, if maywaether sat in the pocket
                    he'd get a crashing overhand right .. he'd be out cold ..
you can't even compare mayweather to hearns . to be great
you have to fight greats , mayweather refuses to fight cotto
it would be like hearns ducking ray leonard and hagler and
                    claiming to be great
