Tommy Hearns v Floyd Mayweather

Look man, look at it this way. Against a DLH that would get tired out by the mid-late rounds, PBF had the most trouble with which of his punches? His jab! The few rounds that DLH won, were because of his jab. DLH has a great jab, so it worked against PBF. Hearns also has a great jab, and would use it against him the whole night, not just for a few rounds. Remember, Hearns can go 15 rounds. Hearns is also one of the strongest punchers ever, so if he follows up after he lands a jab with his right, which he does often, he will surely hurt PBF.Dude Hearns was great...but so is Mayweather.
I cant pick anyone over Mayweather right now...he looks virtually unbeatable....
I love Tommy...but beating Mayweather is on a whole diffrent level....You claim Tommys chin is hard to find...when the hell has Mayweathers chin ever been found???.....Everyone is just picking Tommy by KO is ridicolous....has Mayweather ever been hit flush with a powerful right hand....because no one can do it man.....Comment

I think theres been some interesting points.
Firstly, I dont think Hearns' chin is much of an issue here.
Floyd is not a big punching welterweight, he didn't rock Judah once to my recollection (beat on him middle-to-late rounds, never did damage with any one punch),didn't come close to troubling Baldomir with power and although he hurt Hatton that was more accumulative punishment with the constant counters, and Ricky was clearly out of his depth at the weight.
Secondly I agree with the points about Floyd fighting in the pocket, and that can work against Hearns but his sheer physical strength could come into play (Benitez felt it in clinches). Steward was good at getting his tall, rangy fighters to use their body weight against younger guys and physically wear them out. That pockets a risky vacuum for Floyd to be in, though he can work well in there. Personally I dont think Hearns stays there for long, he keeps the fight on the outside and Lil Floyd on the end of them big punches. The sheer dimensions are incredibly difficult for May to overcome. He's got to weave inside (difficult because as he goes forward Hearns is moving left and right, or backwards), avoid the pinpoint jab and right hand on the way in, THEN STAY THERE long enough to rack up points.Comment
