I'd have to agree with some of these guys and call it
    1.Morales
    2.Barrera/Pac
    4.JMM
    5.Hammed

If pac returns to the super featherweight division after he beats Diaz, he might Pass Barrera but won't reach Morales.

and just in the last 2-3 years i'd take wins over larios , solis , velazquez , past prime morales and past prime barrera over jandeang , jaca , past prime barrera and juarez in my resume anyday.
Take Morale away from Pacs resume and its doens't look better then Marquez.

Marquez could have beaten the fighters Pacquiao did. But could Pacquiao beat John? a fighter that is going to run, run, box, box? You seen how bad Solis made Pacquiao look, John is better then Solis.

i agree with you. if you take away his 2 wins with morales it's pretty close to juan manuel's. but the 2003 win over that barrera trumps any of juan's wins. still doesn't mean their resume's are better than morales or marco. i voted marco by the way.

solis is awkward and taller. solis is about 5'9 and john is only 5'7 makes a difference. styles make fights and maybe he wasn't prepared for solis it was a tuneup after all. funny. manny looks bad and he knocked the guy out? it was an awkward fight but when manny got going after the cut he closed the show didn't he?

I'd love to rank Morales over Barrera for the number one spot, but EM didn't age well. Dude got old before even reaching 30. In terms of longevity, Morales is last. But prime, of course he is number one.

wtf kind of logic is that, taking away fights just for arguments sake? it is as it is, so start w/ that. you could take away impt fights of other fighters as well and you'd have a diff scenario. and your what ifs are not valid here. the thread asks for opinions based on records/resume that are there, not hypothesized.

Prime for Prime, Pac loses to everyone on this list besides Hamed. That is why he isnt #1 for most people who have followed boxing for more then the last 5 years.

okey this is my take ... based on their resume, head to head match ups and other perceived factors...

sh_t i can not put Erik nor marco over pac, as they where soundly beaten by pac, and i cant put jmm over marco & erik although jmm beat mab in a close contest and fought pac for 24 rounds tooth and nails ...

                    1. pac (legacy at FW is magnified from starting at fly weight and ARGUABLY beat top 1,2 & 3 at FW, and at this point book is still open)

                    2. erik/mab (although they may be ahead of pac or jmm, their book is ALREADY closed, imho erik is better but, cant argue that mab beat him 2x)

                    3. jmm (was considered the best of the 3 amigos, and can still be considered the best, but needs to finish career with a ****)

oh well, i have to this again when all the books for these four guys are closed...

so only new boxing fans are pacquiao fans right?

the barrera that lost to manny in 2003 was pretty close to prime. prime barrera loses to manny anyways in my opinion because of manny's style and speed.

prime erik probably beats manny in a close fight. too big and too strong for manny and that granite chin negates manny's power.

and by the way marquez might be old (age wise) but he is in his prime now or close to it. with their respective styles i wouldn't be surprised if a 5 yr. older marquez stays competitive after manny no longer is. juan depends on his ring generalship and boxing skills and manny depends on his speed and power. manny is showing signs of wear and slowing down already. you telling me that the marquez in the 1st fight he wasn't prime anymore? prime for prime it will still be close between those 2 because of their matchups.

oh yeah and the guy that you said is the only one manny can beat. hamed? he's the only one that probably ko's manny. he had the speed to match manny's and his great chin negates manny's power. don't forget hamed's power. especially one punch power. people underestimate and underrate naseem far too much. hamed burned out too fast. he was no longer in his prime after the kelley fight. think tyson-like career as a good comparison.

manny has a lot of bandwagon fans. what good fighter with good wins doesn't? doesn't mean they don't have knowledgable fans as well......
