sorry i dont know how to liston to u(very intelligent post) and james toney's wieght problem prevented him from being in his prime at light heavy etc. he was only at his prime at supermiddlewieght u cant jus say he wasnt because light heavy is near super middlewieght.okrofl dats wellcool rofl hahahha rofl james toney is fatrofl roy jones owns rofl
Why not learn to post intelligently? Toney's prime was at SMW, he was still near prime at MW and LHW. That is not a big difference. Roy was very effective from MW to LHW, until he got old. Toney was effective at all 3 as well, just not nearly as effective as someone like Roy.
Again, AND LISTON TO ME THIS TIME! Toney lost to bums in his prime, Roy lost to much better fighters than the ones Toney lost to, when past his prime. Get it? Also, Roy was much more consistent and dominant in his prime, and oh yeah, completely dominated James Toney.
he lost to 2 bums 3 times wow look at roy same thing happen he lost to tarver twice and to glen haha both c class bums.
He didnt dominate him he just had a bigger handspeed plus toney had to shave of a few pounds on fight night which drained him but no excuses he lost but wasnt dominated.Comment

Glen Johnson is much better than Montell Griffin? No. Glen Johnson is a bum.okrofl dats wellcool rofl hahahha rofl james toney is fatrofl roy jones owns rofl

This is how it goes. You can argue to you are blue in the face, it wont change reality.
James Toney struggles horribly to make weight, is unable to prepare for and subsequently loses to Roy Jones.
James Toney moves up in weight to light heavy, takes a "tuneup" fight against 14-0 Montell Griffin. Toney loses a very close MD to a fighter whom he thought was a tuneup, but turned out to be a very good little fighter. A fight which both myself, Harold Lederman, Jim Lampley, and George Foreman feel Toney won.
James Toney fights 10 times in two years at weights as high as 200lb.
James Toney manages to get down to 174lb to fight Montel Griffin again.
James Toney has now had 57 fights in his career with 2 losses.
A visibly fatigued James Toney (from making weight) gets robbed of a well earned victory after outclassing Montel Griffin. Landed more punches at a higher percentage, and the MUCH harder blows all night.
Griffin fought off his back foot all night, and pawed with his jab. Somehow he got the decision.
Round 6, George Foreman "Toney is doing an excellent job of piling up points" Excellent enough to win 0 rounds on one judges card?
Roy Jones after round 6 "Montell Griffin is fighting James Toney's fight"
A fight in which James Toney swept the first 5 of the first 6 rounds on Harold Lederman's scorecard, yet still managed to only get 108 points on one judges card, a grand total of 0 rounds.
Two fights later, James Toney FAILS to make weight, Loses a close MD to Drake Thadzi as a result of inactivity in the ring.
So who has James Toney lost too? Roy Jones, while weight drained. I thought Toney lost to bums in his prime?Comment

What the f***? Johnson knocked out Griffin. Calling the FIGHTER OF THE YEAR 2004 a bum, the man who beat Jones, Tarver and Woods a bum? That's a bit too much.Glen Johnson is much better than Montell Griffin? No. Glen Johnson is a bum.Comment

Did steroids, lost a bit of respect for him there.
But still achieved a lot, how much of it was legit I don't know.Comment
