Look all you Gayweather fans. I give props to Money for being impossible to beat, but at the same time if you think people are buying PPV's because of him you are mistaken. The only reason people bought the PPV's with Hatton and DLH was to see if their fighter could beat this sneaky unbeatable fighter and put him in his place. He is the most hated fighter, they put him in there with fighters who are loved and that's how PPV's are sold, but you can believe nobody would pay to watch a PPV in which Mayweather was the main attraction. NOBODY! As evidenced throughout Floyd's early career.Comment

Are you mentally challenged?
If your going to post, at least do it a logical and thorough manner.
Floyd said he was taking a break from the sport before the Hatton fight, and just because a couple of immature internet message board trollers (aka you) say hes ducking, or afraid, certianly doesnt mean he is.
Get a life besides Floyd Mayweather, it is borderline pathetic.
FLOYD SAID HE DIDNT WANT TO FIGHT COTTO.."no paper in it baby"
he even said like 3-4 weeks ago when asked, that he did not want to fight Cotto.
this has NOTHING to do with him wanting to "take a break" HE HAS MADE these comments well before he said he wanted to take a break. try and keep up, you Joy SInclair nuthuggerComment

I read the other posts. I'll repeat my statement that ODLH vs. ME would sell a million PPV buys, so it says nothing to declare that Cotto v. Oscar would do a million sales. I think that it's hard to argue that Floyd's exposure during the Oscar fight (and in the Hatton fight) has raised his marketability to a whole different level than what it was pre-ODLH. Nobody in the sport approaches ODLH's marketability because he transcends the sport like nobody since Tyson. Now, Floyd is nowhere near ODLH level, but he is much more of a cross-over star than Cotto is at the moment, primarily because of HBO and 24/7. Cotto is a monster draw...to latinos and real boxing fans only. In order to generate the 1 million + PPV buys, you have to appeal to a larger segment than that; you have to grab the atttention of the general sports fan.Last edited by NachoMan; 12-10-2007, 02:41 PM.Comment

But i see your point.... I dont know if I'd watch floyd fight a nobody for 50 dollars.....Well if I had to pay.
It'd have to be a good fighter.
and you cant blame it on his early career since he had to fight his way up.Comment
