Will yall stop with this Williams talk? Please! This kid good in the ring, tall and rangegy like Tommy "Hitman" (the REAL HITMAN!) Hearns, but WHO HAS HE BEAT???
Marg?? WHO IS HE?
Then, when Floyd fights and beats these guys, yall have 1 million more EXCUSES!!!!
LOL!! I have to laugh out loud because this is getting old. How about all these dudes yall talking about fight each other, and yall get front row seats and enjoy!
Mayweather been world champ 10 years and aint lost since 96..what else he has to prove in boxing? Believe, I know the response that I will get...
Money said, "The person to beat Floyd Mayweather, hasn't even been born yet"...LOL!!!
Floyd is FORVERducking someone, live with it. Now it's Cotto..
Arum will say anything to get some dumb fans to believe his ****, He didnt go to Harvard university for nothing, He was clever enough to sell Margarito on the back of Mayweather which was enough to get him some exposure from the people that need something bad to write about Mayweather.
Mayweather would fight Cotto but Cotto need to build up the fight and let go of Arum who knows how to get to the dumb fans who does know how boxing works.
He's a huge draw??????? Maybe I'm not, but certainly 350k is not a big deal when one is sealing 2 million ppv sells.
You Sir, are the one who is not too bright.
The thing you'll need to remember, is a big part of those numbers were made because of Oscar and without him on that fight the numbers would not have come close. Of course the Mosley Cotto fight were gonna do less. Had Oscar fought Cotto, those numbers would have matched if not exceeded that number based on the huge Mexican, Puerto Rican fan base alone not to mention the casual fans.
As far as saying Cotto brings no money to the table or doesnt have the star power....then who does?
Vernon Forrest? Zab Judah? Antonio Margarito? Ike Quartey? Paul Williams? Kermit Cintron?
Cotto has more star power than all of them combined. And the only reason Mayweather-De La Hoya had millions of buys was because Oscar. And it was all Hatton fans when he foght Hatton. But he did destroy Hatton lol that was awesome.

Maybe *shudder* Joartcc was right all the time: Mayweather only fights for money, not to fight the best.
Not that Floyd needs to do take the fight, but if one guy out there might have shot to beat him..that guy is Paul "The punisher" Williams...his praying mantis arms and 100 punches per round would give Floyd more trouble than he's ever seen...how long would Hatton last with Williams??...not long....I say Williams KOs Cotto within ten. I think Margarito only upped his status by losing to Paul the freak!!
Who are you to call someone a liar? That's childish and you have NO proof that he's lying. He wanted to retire after DLH, he's been looking to leave the sport. He is bored, period.
Didnt he say he would retire after the Baldomir fight. Than the money comes a knocking for a fight with DLH. He takes that without hesitation. Than big money presents itself for a fight with Hatton and Floyd takes it because he KNOWS it will be an easy fight.
Floyd is not bored with the sport. He loves the sport. But its obvious money is a huge motivator for him. Why would somebody subject themselves to a 3 month training camp, hours spent in the gym, and hundreds of rounds of grueling sparring sessions if they didnt love the sport. Floyd loves it and he loves the attention. And he wont get any attention if he stops fighting.
Floyd is a brilliant fighter. But lets be honest beating a part-time fighter, full-time promoter is not very impressive. Than he fights an incredibly one-dimensional undersized British fighter in Hatton. And Floyd has the nerve to say hes the best ever or hes done everything he needs to accomplish in the sport. Give me a break!! I have no problem with this guy retiring but if he does (which he wont) than you cant claim your better than the all-time greats.
Cotto is a natural 147 whos hungry, young and determined. Hes a strong fighter with a brutal and devastating body attack. His boxing is surprisingly good as well. I think its a fight that needs to be made.
I don't get it, I just don't ****ing get it. When Mayweather was crying at the post-Baldi fight press conference he said he doesn't need the money.
"I'm not in it for money, I'm in here for legacy". He's said it before, can't nobody argue wit me on that ****.
Mayweather and De La Hoya's fighting for money and fame now. Cotto just gets busy and fights, only thing I don't like about him is he's not a businessman, or tryna be, like Mayweather and De La Hoya. He livin' good, though, so it's all right, all he gotta do is fight. I don't care if Cotto gets knocked out in the 1st round, just make the ****ing fight, Floyd.

Fighting with Floyd now will get anyone their biggest payday. Why? Not because he has fans who love him, but because he's pound for pound the best. Real boxing fans either wanna see him showcase his talent against his next opponent or swear they know how Floyd can lose to the opponent he's faxing. Mainstream boxing fans just try to be in that moment if he loses. He acts the bad guy in press conferences, people hate him, they wanna see him get "ktfo, so he can stfu". The day Floyd loses, the PPV and ticket sales will drop, IMO.
De La Hoya will always be the biggest draw in boxing ever. He loses and still makes big numbers. Why? Because he's light skinned and pretty, pause, and he's a humble motha****a. People love him.
