There is no doubt that he's the p4p fighter in the sport and this was made clear by every write up I've read after the fight. It is no longer debatable to them. Cotto is no threat to this mythical crown. He started his career in 2001 and had one good win against Mosley along with Floyd's leftovers. Paul Williams beat "the most feared man in boxing". Neither of those accomplishments scream "legacy fight". His legacy comes from his 10 year career, not Miguel Cotto. That is ridiculous and means Cotto is overrated. Cotto doesn't make or break a HOF famer until he becomes one himself.

yes he's bank account is good but the only way he could sit back and enjoyed now is if he don't give a **** about his legacy and that's the truth.
Cotto has no bearing on his legacy. He isn't important enough.

so what of becoming a 5 division champion he didin't make history..
Yes he did. No one else has been able to do that while remaining undefeated. Not even Sugar Ray Leonard (even though he's been in more wars).

OSCAR DID 6 DIVISION ppl respect oscar because he always fought the best is time for floyd to show his division that he really is and all time great.
Oscar lost to the best fighters he's faced and nobody's resume is like DLH as far as competition. The point is that Floyd has fought better fighters than Cotto, the guy people are saying makes or breaks Floyd. Floyd already beat De La Hoya and the best at 130/135 and now 140.

    im done.
    Good..

This makes no sense at all. Unlike you, I don't carry the burden of ******ity so I can't respond to this non-sequitur.

I think Cotto/Mayweather should be made but I'm not excited for it. It should be made because Cotto deserves the shot. But I don't think Cotto has a great chance of winning.

..................And Oscar not fighting the then 29-0 Vernon Forest or Winky Wright did not put a damper on his "legacy" either.

I am a fan of Miguel but I don't think he has a chance. People have gone on about Hattons record but the same could be labelled at Miguel. Judah is finished and Mosley arguably won the last fight. Would still like to see it though. Not with Miguels footwork.

I think Mayweather plain just wants to stop boxing and live his life now. Hes basically been in the ring since he was born, his father knew what he was going to make his child into from that day. 30 ( ? ) years on and hes beaten the best and has enough money to never need to lift a finger let alone go punch a guys face in for money. He's No.1 P4P. He doesn't think he needs to do any more to be up there with the big guys.

This really isn't a good time for him to stop though. This fight must have exposed him to at least a million more people who didn't know his name before. People i know who only have a micron of interest for boxing because they know me were talking about this fight.

He's at the height of his fame and the top of his game. This is when people will want to start watching him fighting people. I think to a lot of people his legacy is just starting now.

But then there will always be a new up and coming boxer who is being hyped up as the "Floyd Killer" so it may never end.
