But seriously, Flyod really took Hatton off his game...he looked great the first couple rounds.
The elbows weren't as bad as people here are makign them out to be. The reason behind them is worse than the act itself actually. He was trying to get sideways as much as possible so if hatton hit him w/ his right it would be much closer to the back of his head and perhaps another point would be taken off. Boxers do it from time to time, just usually not in a manner like that.

The dirty play from both fighters was just that... both fighters. He deducted a point from Hatton at a fairly appropriate time, and assuming he was going to take one from Floyd if he decided to flirt w/ the line he only had the remaining 3 rounds to do so... all of which became relatively clean.

That sums it up pretty well. Floyd saved energy because Joe Cortez spending energy fighting Hatton for him.

Cortez is literally 'past his prime.' Smoger, Bayless, and others(I'm drunk I can't remember) are the future of boxing referreeing. And after tonight's performance I doubt many promoters will be calling him...

I have seen some bad stoppages and generally poor calls made by refs, but I have NEVER, in all the fights I have watched, seen a ref interfere with, and or attempt to influence a fight as blatantly as Joe Cortez did tonight.
Then you don't watch a boxing. People can QQ about this as much as they want... but it was hardly horrible refereeing. You're probably either A: Drunk, B: A gigantic nuthugging Hatton fan who will make excuses until his head explodes, or C: ******. There might be an option D: Delusional could also apply.

I agree, but the really sad thing is, no one cares.

They think floyd is supreme but truth is, he was gonna get blasted sooner or later by a Hatton shot if the ref let things run.

The whole debate then is centered around.... Hatton has to fight ugly and basically cheat to win... and because the ref wouldn't let him it's a fix and Floyd isn't as good?

Think about it, because that's honestly what you're insinuating even though you might not realize it.

Believe me, Having and elbow stuck in your throat is HUGE. There at reason why it is a foul. You cant breath, if you cant breath, you cant fight. Also, pushing on Rickys head wears out his neck muscles, also a foul, and weakens his chin in the latter rounds. Sound familiar? Another way in which Joe Cortez directly contributed to Mayweather's TKO victory.

Your exactly right, but we all knew there would be excuses from "some" Hatton fans.

This wasn't a 15 round fight where Floyd fought dirty for 14 w/ the help of the ref while Ricky fought clean and then collapsed from exaustion in the 15th. Your delusional thoughts must cease soon or I'm sure you'll have to be commited.
