Joe Cortez

You only addressed one part of it. Its a two part theory. You see, inorder to reject my reasoning, you have to claim that bodyshots do not take anything out of a fighter.Homie look I'm not buying that Ricky had to expend more energy theory (just my opinion) so you want to knock me because I'm not buying your theory.
Hatton fought one hell of a fight. I'm not discrediting him at all, but you on the other hand are finding the smallest **** and trying to make it into a big deal.
Sorry man, I dont agree with you on this matter. From how the fight played out, there could have been another ref who would allowed the clinching, but the fight outcome would have stayed the same. Hatton was getting hit way to much and Floyd softened him up with some nice ass straight right hand leads. I'm trying to point out to you that the ref didnt have **** to do with the KO. You're the one who is impling that the ref helped Mayweathear get the KO because your fighter lost.
Lets just agree to disagree becuase I respect your views but I dont agree with it either.
Everyone would laugh at you if you did, so Im guessing you wont. You will just continue to ignore the clear logic behind the scenario I laid out.
I also adressed Hatton getting hit with right hands, that falls under the "working your way inside" catagory. Did you actually thing Floyd was sitting still and doing nothing while Ricky was WORKING his way inside. I emphasized the word WORKING because it take WORK. Ricky had to absorb punishment to get inside. Every time he got there, Joe Cortez pushed him back outside and forced him to take MORE PUNISHMENT to get inside.
Despite this obvious fact, you still claim Joe Cortez had no effect on Floyds ability to "soften" ricky up.Comment

I noticed that, to me he just has been hit by fame and wants a fair portion of the fight to be about him. Sky's commentry was quite funny in the opening rounds, they wasn't best pleased with Cortez.Comment

After this fight; Cortez should never ref a world title fight. Smoger for president, I mean ref!!!Comment

I dont think he eased up intentionally, I think he ran out of energy. And people still claim he didn't effect the fight. The guy ran out gas "not effecting the fight".Comment

Cortez didn't want any funny business. He should have gotten on Floyd's case, but the point deduction from Hatton was fine in my eyes. He was most likely throwing the point out, and was going to take one away from Floyd too, to make sure they were both on notice. However, after that the fight was only dirty for a little while longer before it became easy to ref.
Warnings only go so far and the first few rounds were extremely ugly.Comment

I agree with that... It WAS THAT FLAGRANT. I dont know if i like smoger that much though but Cortez should be like those old people that cant see anymore... take his license and tell him he cant do it anymore.Comment

What about Floyds elbows and forearms across Hattons throat countless times....it was a dirty fight from both figters and the other fighter deserves it just as much as Hatton did.Cortez didn't want any funny business. But seriously, Flyod really took Hatton off his game...he looked great the first couple rounds.Comment

The reason why he eased up was because he had already taken Hatton out of his game plan. Hatton was not only fighting Floyd but was also fighting Cortez. Once Hatton became frustrated, there was nothing more for Cortez to do but to let Floyd pick him apart.Comment

The only way Hatton had a chance of winning was to make it ugly. Joe Cortez did everything in his power to keep him from doing so.Cortez didn't want any funny business. I have seen some bad stoppages and generally poor calls made by refs, but I have NEVER, in all the fights I have watched, seen a ref interfere with, and or attempt to influence a fight as blatantly as Joe Cortez did tonight.Comment
