I wasn't really surprised he took pictures with Floyd after a performance like that. If I was Floyd, I would have given Joe Cortez a hug too.

Why did he have lots of energy? Joe Cortez prevented Ricky Hatton from working in the early rounds.

Anyone with even a moderate understanding of boxing knows that by investing a good body attack in the early rounds, you will be rewarded with a slower opponent in the later rounds.

Its called investing because you have to put something into get something out. Ricky put something in. He put alot in, in the form of energy. Joe Cortez acted like a crook and ran away with Rickys money.

Ricky never had a chance to see a return on his investment. He basically got robbed of half his money, then had to continue fighting a nice fresh Mayweather. Who going into the fight was more then a fresh Ricky Hatton could deal with. A tired and worn out Ricky Hatton? Forget about it. Mayweather made easy work of Hatton in the later rounds thanks to Joe Cortez.
Mayweather outplayed Hatton at his own game.
Hatton got his way, tried to rough up "Pretty Boy"" on the ropes...
          And got hustled...
Cortez, the Holy Ghost, NOBODY was going to stop what happened tonight.
          The ****ing excuses are pathetic.

Because its true right? What Ricky does is no different than neutralizing a left hook with a strait right hand. He does not hold. And by the way, all of this "HOLDING" he does, is done with his right hand, the hand he miraculously uses to great effect on the inside via uppercuts. Something not possible while holding. His opponents can free their limbs and time they want to, all Ricky does is make it impossible to throw any sort of meaningful punches with the arm he has control of.

Just watched Castillo-Hatton and Cortez wasn't such a ***** about clinching, ugly fighting...
Hatton got KO'ed, that's the bottom line.
But ref screwed first few rounds.

You are very close to being a good poster, you obviously know a little bit about boxing, but you consistently seem to ignore things that don't mesh with your version of what has is playing out, especially when it is regarding the less refined pugilists.

I can sympathize with you as one fan of pure boxers to another. It took me along time to finally appreciate what mauling pressure fighters do, but when I finally did, it really revolutionized how I watched boxing.

While I am still preferential to extremely technical fights, like Calderons last fight, I can now appreciate what fighter like Ricky Hatton are able to achieve.

I am now able to appreciate how much Joe Cortez helped Mayweather, and while I still believe that short of a miraculous knockout, Ricky Hatton had no chance to win this fight, Joe Cortez put Hatton at an even greater disadvantage.

That does not change the fact that Joe Cortez made Floyds night significantly easier than would have been had Joe Cortez not intervened.
