Not so sound like an *******, but I would be paying more than that to go see an up-and-coming fighter from across the state fight in a small arena. I mean very small. I'm not sure how many seats and I don't have time to check. Point is, of course Hatton is going to sell lots of tickets when they're that cheap.

Yes you did, you agreed with it and built on it.
Once, twice, how many times? The claim was made that he generally does 48,000, while you claimed that the entire country tunes in to watch him fight. And as a matter of fact, you were steadfast on 30,000 until someone bumped it up to 48. Then to save face, you bumped it back down to 10-12 thousand, and now 20,000 again. You people are liars. lol..its a 20,000 arena and he sold out it out.
I do, all the time. Anyways..you should really start watching some boxing.
Using his superior speed and ability, Mayweather outboxed the Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena last night, taking a 12-round split decision before a sold-out crowd of 16,700. - source
vs. 2.4 million ppv buys!
^The above demonstrates why live gate doesn't mean anything. Assuming Ricky has drawn over 16,000 in England, this would be like saying he has more drawing power than Oscar De La Hoya as well. The arenas out there have a higher capacity obviously if that's the case and going out to boxing events isn't as much as a past time here as ordering pay per view, cracking a few beers, and inviting some friends over. Plus, there are more Americans than brits, which has been stated ad nauseum.Last edited by sonofisis; 11-27-2007, 05:59 PM.Comment

Ellerbe is smokin the crack.
The only people I know that watch floyd fight are people that watch to see him get punched in the face.
No one doubts his skill or his talent.
But to say he has a huge fan base is nuthugging rubbish.
And you guys talking about the 2mill ppv buys....are stealing 1.94 million of them from DLHComment
