      ^Yep
Which is the first thing that came to mind since we were (Wiley was) discussing Floyd losing playing a part in people being drawn to see his fights. Not skills, opposition, or none of that.

What in the world are you talking about? Lay off the substance abuse, you're way off base. And those U.K. fans will be overshadowed by both live American fans and American ppv buyers, but again, that's besides the point, which you totally missed.

Those fights sold out. There were no available seats for the GreenTeefs.

I doubt it. Floyd has draw with the boxing public, but it's proportionally linked to the quality of his competition. So the issue of "who is the draw, Ricky or Floyd?" is really unanswerable since they are tied to each other. Floyd being known in America has the greater audience to pull from, but Hatton's fan base is much more concentrated. IMO Hatton is much more popular in Britain than Floyd is in America. It's analagous to spilling a quart of water on a wooden table v. spilling a teaspoon of concentrated sulfuric acid on a wooden table. The latter is easily cleaned up. The former leaves a permanent mark. This is the difference between Floyd and Hatton. Hatton will be forever remembered in Britain (and internationally if he wins Dec. 8). Floyd's memory will be shortlived in America regardless. It's the difference between a courageous warrior and a businessman.

i think hatton being remembered internationally in britain has more to do with the fact that hes one of the few top level fighters you guys actually have, whereas in america as arrogant as it sounds, we will continue to have top level fighters up and top divisions for as long as our fighters continue to come up in our amatuer program, winning and being trained by good trainers.

whitaker one of the greatest to ever lace them up, isnt exactly revered and loved like the public and was NEVER a household name, what difference does it make?
