It takes 2 to sell a fight, this fight is major because of the both of them in their own seperate way.

whitaker one of the greatest to ever lace them up, isnt exactly revered and loved like the public and was NEVER a household name, what difference does it make?
Agreed........that is the truth. As far as the Whittaker analogy goes, that is true as well, but it does make a difference in that some fighters could sell a fight by their name only...ie...Ali, Tyson (tho I hate to admit it), and a very few others. Floyd isn't in that genre and that's relevant to the discussion.

According to you...which is rather dubious to begin with.

Wiley, I disagree. Mayweather is a name that can sell a fight. I think it's been proven and the common denominator in all of Mayweathers bouts that are victorious on the number side is Mayweather. He's a draw. It definitely does not matter who the bigger draw is. Mayweather IS a draw. Period.

His only draw is the fact that he is such a polarizing figure.....among the serious boxing fan. (and the hip hop culture)

The casual fans that have watched his mainstream fights in my experience all say the same thing.

"Well...he sure is fast. How come he doesnt want to fight?"

                  Or

"Wait...so the black guy BEAT Delahoya?"

"Wow, that mexican guy sure is pushing the black guy around"

"Wait...the black guy BEAT the mexican guy?"

"oh yea..is he the arrogant, loudmouth, feminine boxer that cant patch things up with his dad or the guy that trains him?"

"whos the little black guy that keeps running away?"

YES! You and I can appreciate all the artistry in the ring.

The guy that catches only huge pay per views......gets treated to Floyd
sprinting away from competition like a track star.
