^^Exactly........ With these arguments, they can say the same thing if Ricky were fighting De La Hoya. The bold is ****** because you could say the same **** for a Hatton-De la Hoya fight in England. Yes those people are fans of Hatton but a lot of that **** has to do with National Loyalty. In America we don't love or like our sports stars because of National Loyalty so that comment makes no sense or serves no purpose to prove anything.Comment

this is want your pal Trehd was commenting on..Heres an excerpt from my next article which talks about this:
"Hatton's appeal is unique, something that American audiences cannot relate to. Put it this way, if the fight was in England, how many fans would make the trans-Atlantic journey to see Mayweather-Hatton? Here's a hint, not 30,000. Hatton is a prized export, like Manny Pacquiao is to the Philippines, like Naseem Hamed was to England, like Julio Cesar Chavez was to Mexico. To America, Floyd Mayweather is just a prizefighter. To England, Ricky Hatton is much more."

as a de la hoya fan, i can tell you right now you would NOT see some huge exodus of people going overseas to see him fight, americans just are not like that. we arent much of a presence for the olympics even though we usually have the top medal count practically every year.
we just arent into travelling like that, we have enough top flight atheletes right here to where we dont have to, thats just the way it is here. We will have another de la hoya, we will have another mayweather, mexicans will have another great fighter, puerto ricans will have no shortage of great fighters, we dont need to leave this place to see it.Comment
