Mayweather did the same thing with Tszyu, he delayed the fight with the only legitimate contender at the time for so long that they gave up and fought someone else. Mayweather is quite happy to wait for somebody else to beat Cotto and then claim he would have loved to have been the first to beat him but it just couldnt be done, well, not until he grew a pair anyway.

First off let me say that I like Mayweather he is one of my favorite fighters. If Floyd makes it by Hatton (which I think he will) then he absolutely needs to fight Miguel Cotto. I don't care about the bs feud that Arum and Mayweather have this fight needs to happen. There is no excuse that anyone could tell me to convince me otherwise and if Mayweather doesn't fight him I will lose a ton of respect for him. I can't believe he said he wouldn't fight Miguel even if he beat Mosely. I don't really think that Mayweather is afraid of Cotto but it will sure as hell look that way if he doesn't fight him.

If Floyd doesn't fight Cotto (assuming that he beats hatton) then he will lose a lot of fans probably including myself.

Cotto is an elite fighter who will give any one problems.. he may not be the draw that Floyd is or even Hatton but he will be, many people have heard of what he does but havent seen it once he fights a few more big fights he'll be as big a anyone else in the sport today besides Oscar.... Cotto would beat Maragrito, Cintron and Hatton... Mosely gave him all he could handle, Paul Williams would too along with Floyd of course!

Don't think that margarito is an easy W for Cotto, I think Cotto's people are steering him as far away from Margarito as possible.

Floyd better not duck Cotto, this fight has to happen and everyone wants to see it. I think Floyd is probably scared of Cotto just like he was scared of Kostya Tszyu. I would originally pick Floyd by UD over Cotto, but Cotto keeps proving me wrong and I think he could pull off the upset and beat Floyd. Floyd will definately need some good track shoes if he ever fights Cotto.
