Don't resort to the "he would beat them so he doesn't haqve to" line. Floyd needs to beat Cotto, and whoever emerges from Cinton/Williams/Marg.

There is a difference between need and should. Now I agree he should fight Cotto atleast, but he far from needs to. He doesn't even have to fight Hatton. His legacy and accomplishments and merits are cemented in boxing history. he is already included in very exclusive list and he has accomplished alot in a shprt period. The guy has been champion his whole career,what other current fighter can say that...how many former fighters can say that? He doesn't need for nothing, but I agree he should fight Cotto next.

Cotto doesn't draw, as evidenced by his ppv numbers for judah and mosley. He has no charisma and is shy around his own fans. He has slightly above average speed, and slightly above average power, and an average chin at best. in short he is a slightly above average fighter. People dont pay 50$ to see his caliber of fighter.
He would have lost to Judah had he not intentionally hit him low twice, imo he should have been dq'ed because of the blatant intent of these punches. for people saying PBF has to fight him, cmon, are you serious. what has cotto done to warrant a fight against the #1 pfp fighter in the world? beat judah by cheating, which he admitted to, getting a draw against a 36 year old fighter which could have gone either way. and he beat a bunch of scrubs, big deal, beat a legit opponent impressively and we will talk. fyi, this wont happen, cotto is a top 8 guy in the division, that is it. once he starts fighting the best in the division he will not win 1/2 of his fights.
IN SHORT NO ONE IS PAYING TO SEE PBF BUT ON A BOXING CLINIC AGAINST A SLIGHTLY ABOVE AVERAGE DRONE OF A FIGHTER. floyd might as well give hatton a rematch after schooling him and make another 15-20 mil. he wont come close to 10 agaisnt cotto, an average fighter with no charisma with a fan base that doesn't/ cant afford to see his fights.

I say he should fight cotto because he is a champion and undefeated. Floyd can fight cotto and beat him to say that he beat two undefeated young prime champions in a row (if he gets past hatton). Cotto may be slow with an average chin and he barely beat an older guy. But didn't floyd do that against Oscar? I know it was at a higher weight but still the fact remains that he had a close fight with a older past his prime fighter. I think cottos style which is nonstop pressure and punching will make the fight exciting. Plus he has a pretty good jab which worked effectively against floyd in his fight with Oscar until Oscar got tired. I think it would be a great fight and it would produce numbers. Cotto may be shy but he still has alot of fans who would pay their hard earned money to watch one of their favorite fighters go against the pretty boy. To me it makes sense for them to fight if Mayweather beats hatton. I mean come one it would be a battle putting two undefeated champions in the best division in boxing today all over again. That to me is a big draw cause that rarely happens.

Cotto is a ****ing robot with no personality. I actually DO like him as a fighter, but as a person, I don't even have an opinion on him because he's just creepy.

For me, a Hatton win for Floyd is bigger than a Cotto win, seeing as how he never won a legitimate championship there at 140 and is now fighting the linear champ. Ultimately, he has absolutely nothing to prove after that, after already beating the best at 130, 135, and 147 (at that time.. before Cotto moved up, Williams came on the scene, and Mosley moved back down).. Cotto has a lot to prove, therefore needs someone like Mayweather more than someone like Mayweather needs him.
