300k of 50 dollars is no comparison.

so 200k for joe and kessler is about at 20 dollars is 4 mill for sentanta.

50k from 120 dollar seats and many were going into 100,200 prices. minimum is 6 mill. i would say from the average seats it would be more like 300 dollars. so you're talking abotu maybe 15,000,000 us dollars here fromt eh gate alone

What better average, your number dont make sense, better call carol vorderman to add them up for you.

THERE ARE AROUND 200,000 setanta subcribers in the UK.

It costs around £9.99 to order the channel, add 50,000 people on the gate.

How the **** does that make more money than 200,000 PPV sales at $50 dollars a time, a sellout yankee staduim plus HBO PPV money, etc.

**** averages, they means nothing, the money counts, and 200,000 for a big ppv in america is average.

Imagine if they were to do the fight in vegas, and the casino's got involved, the money would go through the roof.

Only a complete idiot would suggest setanta and 50,000 people on the gate does more money than prime time HBO PPV in the US with a big name.

And only an idiot would suggest every seat at a clazaghe fight costs £120 and thats more than america, some of the seats in big money fights in the USA cost THOUSANDS.

And just to finish off with the most idiotic statement off all from Unseen

"Gate money= More money than PPV",

      Work this one out.

50,000 on the gate for Calzaghe Kessler

      Vs,

the 1.2 million PPV buys for De La Hoya mayweather Jr

      Which fight made more money?

Yeah well you're the one that insinuated that Calzaghe ducked Roy Jones, Jr. because he took the fight with Kessler! LOL What a moron.

I'ts not tha Joe the slapper should go to the USA and make more money, it's the fact he won't leave wales the mans **** scared, held onto the WBO (warren boxing organisation) title rather that take on the other title holders, just to make money out of easy fights, ducked Sven Ottke, Markus Beyer, and even Glen catley.

okay well the figures are 7 million pounds made from the gate. already confirmed.

which equates to 14 million dollars or so.

200k people subscribed to sentanta due to joe and kessler. at 10 pounds a pop that makes it 2 million pounds generated. which is 4 million dollars.

you with me? so the total let's say 18 million dollars from the gate and sentanta.

200k ppv at 50 dollars (25 pounds) is 10 million dollars. or 5 million pounds.

i said the average seat for cal is about 120 pounds. starting from 60 quid which i saw onlnie up to 250 pounds.

according to kessler the fight was shown in 70 countries. how much do you think that would have made? thank you. also the bbc showed joe vs kessler. thank you.

Hopkins said that he's only willing to do the fight with Calzaghe if it's on America soil, and if the money is a 60-40 split in his favor. He refuses to do a 50-50 split."
                -----------------------

NOW, this is reminisent of how Hopkins has handled past inquiries by Calzaghe's camp for a fight, by making deal breaking demands.

This should make it clear that Hopkins isn't exactly jumping up and down to get in the ring with Calzaghe, even at this point in his career. IMO he's lucky Calzaghe even gave him another chance for one last big payday before shuffling off to the retirement home.

I think it would be funny as hell, if Calzaghe accepted this insulting offer and beat Hopkins' ass.
Hopkins has nothing to prove, is the bigger name, and doesn't need Calzaghe. I have no idea why he doesn't retire, let alone split 50/50 with some U.K. fighter who's never left his country and is just starting to get recognition.

mate you were a gonna ages ago with your Hopkins is ducking calzaghe by making him a public offer, and asking for a share of the money that reflect the fact he is the bigger name and beltholder.

But Calzaghe isnt ducking jones for taking less money to fight a lesser name.

By your own logic (not mine)

What must calzaghe be doing in this case?

Buy brain traning on the DS, then come back to me with the answer.

i'm not an idiot like you. i used figures. the discussion is about hopkins and why he is the bigger draw. oscar is a totally different guy. he is not not 6 foot tall and isn't a light heavy. heck he isn't even black.

lets get it clear. 200k ppv at 50 dollars does not make more than 50k seats that has made 14 million dollars. with 70 countries who also had the fight and sentanta 200k buys.

now don't come out with 200k ppv beats 50k seats. thank you

Joe would like to see hopkins in a few more tough fights to make sure he is sofened up before takeing him on, ducked so many people over the years and now expects people to take him for real
