You think 50,000 fans are gonna go to yankee stadium to watch calzaghe fight anyone, no.

And 70,000 live gate, **** off, no way would he do anywhere near that in america, and even if he did, no i dont beleive that equals 300,000 Pay per view sales at $50 a pop

Who is talking about America? You should understand that America is not the only place to be. I am quite sure you can make more money in GB with this fight than in the US, because Calzaghe is a much bigger star in GB than Hopkins will ever be in the US. And 70,000 in live-audience and a live gate over 7M P equals 300,000 buys. It sounds absurd to you because the americans are accustomed to have less than 10k in live attendance (50$-tickets and 50% tickets for free) for their so-called superfights.

you over rate ppv. america has a population of 300 million so 200k is **** all.

200k for a population of lets say 70 mil is a better average for joe. although sentanta aint exactly ppv. if you do the amths a gate is much mroe money than ppv sales. i mean 120 dollars was the bare minimum. and 50k came.

300k of 50 dollars is no comparison.

so 200k for joe and kessler is about at 20 dollars is 4 mill for sentanta.

50k from 120 dollar seats and many were going into 100,200 prices. minimum is 6 mill. i would say from the average seats it would be more like 300 dollars. so you're talking abotu maybe 15,000,000 us dollars here fromt eh gate alone

I see this eerily familiar to the stunt he pulled with Roy Jones on national TV. "50/50 or no fight".

        Come on, Hopkins.

Yeah, the live gate in a sold-out millenium-stadium is worth over 7M pound, which is more than 14,500,000 $. @UK-primtime there is no ****ing doubt that Calzaghe would sell out the stadium.

Damn right. Hopkins wants the easiest fight for the most money and evidently he doesn't consider Calzaghe to be easy enough. It's so obvious.

That old man should just retire and leave the game to the guys that want to fight.

Lets all make it right, Hopkins Calzaghe would be such a crap fight! Hopkins knows if this fight was to happen he would get beat. It makes me laugh hopkins making these silly demands. He needs to wake up.

                  Simple really.
he dont need to sell PPV's.. when he can pack out a stadium of 50,000+

In America, more people know of Hopkins than of Calzaghe. If the fights in America, unless many people come from abroad, most will likely be there because of Hopkins.

I stopped reading at this point.

What with 70,000 fans at the gate (He couldnt do 70,000 for kessler so i dunno where u get that number from)

Plus 200,000 setanta subscribers which would mean nearly every single setanta subscriber ordering the fight in the UK,........

Doesnt make more money than a sell out Yankee stadium plus say 200,000 pay per view sales at $50 a pop, and let me tell you, 200,000 pay per view sales for a big name fighter in the us is average.

Mayweather Judah did 400k buys and people say mayweather cant draw.
