Ok this is a fight not a pow wow. If I am in a fight I want all the advantages whether it be weight location or whatever. That being said Hopkins acts like a little brat when it comes to negotiations but he says it's part of his mindgame.

And about Hopkins-- he wasn't being ******. Not fighting Jones was probably a smart move.
Especially when Roy already beat him WHEN BERNARD WAS IN HIS PRIME.

Hopkins knows he can't beat roy so he ducked him twice. Now it looks like he might duck Joe

Honestly-- is 60/40 THAT outrageous? It's not like he didn't beat a p4p ranked fighter in his last outing. Say what you want, but he has just as much momentum, and MUCH more pulling power than does Calzaghe.

We're thinking about this as avid fans of the sport. Yes, Joe is obviously the better fighter at this point.. but he's not the more popular. Forget about skills.

I dont wanna hear from anyone about 50,000 calzaghe fans buying tickets this weekend, thats small time cash compared to even a mediorce 200,000 pay per view sales in my estimation.

Thats not correct. Joe sold over 50k tickets @US-primetime. Now he is a much, much bigger star and would sell out the m-stadium without a doubt. The live-gate against Kessler werde ober 5M P, which is over 10m $. 10M $ = 200,000 PPV-Buys, but also HBO will get a good piece of it. And like i said know Calzaghe would draw 70K easily (over 7K P as live-gate, which is the same money like ~300,000 PPV buys ) @UK-primtime + good tv-money from Setanta.
            Whos the draw?

              Absolutely rediculous,

Calzaghes stock, what ****ing stock? American Viewers dont pay to watch him, he's not even 'buy one, get one free', He is free, no money down, no strings.

If he's so confident that he can beat joe and calls him out why is he making high demands and risking the fight to not go though? take 50/50 and fight him if you think you can beat him silly.

Ask the average fan who they know better-- Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins.

Nuff said. I can't even believe this has to be debated.

Get real, Setanta is bollocks they have 200,000 subscribers, if every single one of them bought Calzaghe vs Kessler, those are ****ty PPV numbers in the US, especially when you consider setanta isnt even proper ppv, and its costs about £9.99 to buy the damn fights.

You think 50,000 fans are gonna go to yankee stadium to watch calzaghe fight anyone, no.

And 70,000 live gate, **** off, no way would he do anywhere near that in america, and even if he did, no i dont beleive that equals 300,000 Pay per view sales at $50 a pop

LOL... you ever watched some of the older fighters? Even Ray Robinson was notorious for driving a hard bargain.. Ray Leonard as well... Hmm, maybe you know who Oscar Delahoya is?

Just because a fighter has a strong business mind doesn't mean they're scared.
