My man, I've seen the Firpo fight (one of the most entertainingly sloppy fights ever), Charpentier, Tommy Gibbons, Jess Willard, both Tunney bouts, and the Jack Sharkey cheap shot fight. I'm not talking about things I don't know what I speak of. I doesn't do that type of thing my homey.

Firpo fight, he is knocking a big punching bag around the ring with amateurish lunges and is even knocked out the ring. It doesn't take rocket science to see that a guy with a jab launches Dempsey into another realm of existence.

Sharkey's jab-right cross is taking him apart until Sharkey decides "Hmm, let me ***** to the referee while this guy hits me in the nuts WOMP! which way did he go George?"

Charpentier, the French WWI hero, is controlling the pace about 10 blocks from where I used to live (JERSEY CITY!!!) and finally Dempsey got to the smaller man. It was absolutely humorous how homeboy jumped up, only to jump back down when Dempsey came on him again.
Okay, you've seen him fight.....so we disagree. Dempsey was far from "crude" from what I've seen.

I was not aware that Whitaker was addicted to ****.

How hard really was it to just say that we disagreed from the outset? Did it really have to be that I never saw him fight and am just on Oscar De La Hoya and Vernon Forrest's ****? Iwatchboxing, in fact if not for the Puerto Rican poster, that would be my screen name, nucca.

Because given that you almost always post intelligently, that statement concerning Dempsey seemed grossly out of character. You sounded like one of these cats that have never seen Dempsey fight.....it sounded like you were bs'ing to be honest.

Concerning Whitaker, I can see that, actually. Leonard's career was extremely abrvieated due to his retina damage; but beating Benitez, Duran, Kalule & Hearns, to say nothing of his monumental upset over Hagler.....and I do think he beat him....speaks volumes of how good or great he really was.
pryor would have applied pressure to leonard, i dont think leonard ever fought a guy that constantly applies pressure.

Ever heard of Duran or Hagler or Hearns??

I'm actually one of the few that think Pryor could have beaten Leonard, though.

I've always been a proponent of technical skill. When I hear these old geezer ass doos talking about "So what Stanley Ketchel could be hit with two hands at the same time, he was old so he's the greatest!" or "Look at Whitaker slip those punches, he's a *****!", I tend to take offense to it. To me, that's BS.

I agree as well, I don't think you could really dip and slide on Pryor cuz he was a slugger who could improvise and use angles.

duran and hearns are different, they dont come at you the way aaron did. Look what happned in the first duran fight, leonard had to run away from hagler for 12 rounds, i rest my case.

You're not taking into consideration that Leonard learned from the Duran loss, though....so, your case is not made.
