which era had more talent, 70/80s or 20/30s. Be honest man, you know its the latter era. I honestly think gerry cooney would have beaten guys like braddock, carnera, willard, bar and sharkey.
Cooney would beat all of those guys mentioned in my opinion except Baer who could be exceptional when he wanted to.

The 20's and 30's were loaded with talent in the lower weight classes. Ever heard of Barney Ross or Maxie Rosenbloom or Tiger Flowers or Mickey Walker or Benny Leonard or Lew Tendler or Solly Krieger? I could go on; but you get the idea.
You can't just dismiss these men and their accomplishements and talents as if they were nothing.

Nah, Sharkey would kill him too; and I give both Carnera and Willard a good chance at besting the clumsy hooker.
Sharkey was about to beat Dempsey when he got tagged,so true. I was humoring the gent. Carnera I don't know about that, now he was clumsy. Willard wasn't a natural fighter and was essentially a Cowboy and he was an over achiever IMO.

Heh heh. Good discription of Willard....and yeah, Carnera was clumsy as hell; but you know he had to have been hung like a horse with those feet. LOL!!
Anyway, Cooney-Carnera would be amusing just to see how many fall-downs took place.
