Lots of HWs. Young, Briggs, Tillis, Holmes, etc.

None of them fought Liston and none of them moved in the way Ali did. The closest would be Holmes. The others not even close.

Not true, most people rate him where he should be placed, in the lower spot of the top 10 ATG HW's. I have him @ #10. He bashed Patterson's skull in twice, smashed young Cleveland Williams twice while overcoming adversity, Machen, Folley.

Hmm now that I really think about it he did have a thin resume and only defended his title once, bashing Patterson's skull in. But becoming champ and taking the title from an arguable ATG is pretty good, and his reign was ended by the GOAT HW.

No. We are talking giving up the world’s heavyweight championship on your stool. Quitting because his shoulder hurt. The same shoulder used to throw many multiple punches seconds prior. Heavyweight champions are held to a tougher standard historically. Always have been.

Dismissing Liston’s reach makes no sense.

His reach played into why his jab was so effective.

Clearly he had an excellent jab, not only did it set up his combinations but also varied from finding his range and also just using is as a weapon when he really stepped in on it.
