But yes, I would pick a prime Lewis to beat a 20 year old Cassius Clay with 3 fights.Lennox Lewis with the footwork of a Camel, Lewis who was out-jabbed by bums like Ray Mercer & Frank Bruno. Lewis who got poleaxed by journeymen Rahman & McCall. Lewis who would stand no more than one inch taller than Cassius and who's physique is obviously enhanced by the use of steroids. Lewis who would look like a guy in slow-motion against the "Dancing master, with lightening fast hands"...Oh LacedUp you make me laugh, you even mention a 3 fight trilogy like Cassius had during the 1970s with his arch rival Joe Frazier... But LacedUp, there is a huge difference between Cassius Clay & Muhammad Ali, just like there is a huge difference between Joe Frazier & Lennox Lewis.. Cassius Clay was better than Muhammad Ali in every single aspect of the sport of boxing. While Joe Frazier was better than Lennox Lewis at ever aspect of the sport of boxing. To put it into perspective for you, you have been harping on all day about how good the resume is of Lennox Lewis. Well i would bet my house that Joe Frazier would annihilate every single opponent Lennox Lewis ever fought. The lot... Which gives you a rough idea of Lennox Lewis chances against Cassius Clay!

Why would you do that? haha. Good stuff, don't know how anyone could ever say Lewis has a better resume than RJJ.
Look at calzaghe and froch.. Calzaghe has the better wins, but nowhere near the depth that froch has.. Same thing with roy and lennox.. Roy has the better upper echelon wins, but lewis has a lot more solid wins... Just in terms of depth..
And it's such a double standard to discredit lennox's win over tua, then act like toney had no training camp and weight problems and give Roy full credit...
Also a double standard when you discredit the Golata, grant, ruddock wins, but then turn around and act like Roy's wins over Vinny paz, del Valle, old hill, old REGGIE, Brannon, telesco are somehow legit big fight wins..
We even had a thread about pernell whittaker fighting Vinny paz, and everyone was in agreement that it would had been a blowout for pernell, but then roy 7 years later and 5 weight classes higher beats Vinny in an epic mismatch and somehow that's a legit fight.. Followed by the hopeless Brannon, lucas, ancient jr middleweight champ, ancient hill, old blown up Reggie, telesco, Rick frazier, Harding, montel. I don't see any logic discreditng lennox's wins, but then glorifying Roy's lackluster run from toney-ruiz, a seven year in prime stretch for the p4p #1 guy..

Some real zingers in that thread.
2. I'm making the point that roy always took the easiest path.. Did he fight any of the ranked guys.. Best wins were vs vaca and Castro heading into a vacate title belt vs am espn fighter...
Lmao when you proclaimed them "clearly the best 2 middleweights at the time" which in reality, neither had beaten anyone of note, and you had guys like mccallum, g-man, etc.
Who did hopkins and roy best exactly to become the "clearly the best 2 middleweights". It wasn't till years later that this fight became relevant
3. Who did they beat? Name the del Valle, mccallum, reggie'so best wins
4. Once again, I'm talking about list of opponents and depth..
Roy jones had literally no big fights from toney to ruiz, almost an 8 year period..
You critize andre ward all the time for not having a big win since 2011, yet when it comes to roy, you give him a free pass, even though he basically fought nothing but mismatches
You crap on calzaghe because he only has two big wins, yet roy has hopkins and toney and that's about it.. And hopkins was an unknown in the world class level..
But anyways, let's get back to original thread topic and not this stuff

You're actually comparing Calzaghe's run and Ward 2011-present to Roy Jones run?
"Prime Akinwande"that term always gives me a chuckle. "Prime Akinwande!!!" A "Major fight!!"
"Who did they beat?" Pay attention, you're saying the SAME **** as last time. Who did John David Jackson beat? Oh wait we've been here before.
And last, I never said they were the best two Middleweights in that thread. But, Gill Clancy did in 1993.
But again you have been throughly destroyed on this topic. People ask me for links to that thread so they can read it back for laughs.Last edited by IronDanHamza; 03-24-2015, 01:20 AM.
