I've already told you that what I wanted to learn about boxing I learned in the gyms of Detroit.
Other than that I was going to school and working, I had neither the time nor the energy to watch many random bouts.
I do remember watching Scully though, a few of his bouts on ESPN. I also remember sparring him, as does my trainer, up at Galaxy. But John didn't write it down in his journal though, so to him it never happened. Whatever....
I just lost my love for the sport after what happened and fell out of keeping up with it.
Watching bouts from 100 years ago just does not interest me anymore.
And while I fully understand that boxing has evolved in time, I can not dismiss the power of Marciano.
Would he beat James doe?
Most likely not, but still, thanks for the rounds. And good work.
I was always around James' trainer up at Galaxy, but Johnny was always straight out about the work so I never had a chance to speak with him. Luckily, years later while I was refereeing and training kids, Bill started coming to the gym that I was working out of. We would talk when he'd come in and bs about our time at Galaxy. Bill was just about the coolest guy. We'd be standing around, watching our guys work and just shoot the sheet. Bill had the greatest stories from back in his time.
Can you tell me who Bills favorite fighter of all-time was.................Rockin'
You're boy was way more advanced than the whole rock era you do know that don't you?,I posted a video of how rock really fought both look like novices compared to 70s
The people who trained him would laugh at that opinion I'm afraid. They know Marciano, developed Hagler, and there hasn't been a better middleweight since; including the overrated Toney.

Would you like me to post the footage of Rock and Jers again? ,and one of the very early matches at least once to show how much more advanced they were than the whole rock era? So what do you mean you can't dismiss when a rock would never land? and every obsolete tech and flaws he did no fighter even made midcard fighting like that in the 90s used?
