    I think he hates Hopkins.

Roberto Duran: He was ballooning up to over 200 pounds between fights when he beat Barkley. Losing 50+ pounds >>>>> over losing 18 pounds. End thread.

Yeah it's pretty clear that when he doesn't like a fighter personally he'll post a distorted and inaccurate view of their careers. If he likes them he'll do the same thing. Overrating Mugabi is another example.

1st of all I am talking about official weights.

2nd of of all Duran certainly wasn't a successful fighter in the mid-late 80s and beyond

Official weight is just a peace of paper. ACTUAL weight is what matters biologically.

Winning the Middleweight title from Barkley is a success in anyone's book.

Beat the ATG MW Castro too. Hold on that was much much later. Oh and he didn't bother cutting much weight for that either

                • P4P Hagler works him. Roy Jones probably outpoint him but his body will be hurt as hell if they fought at middleweight just if you put 80's Hagler vs early 90's Jones at middleweight. Roy Jones just too big and fast I think.

In all honesty he probably held onto that p4p rating longer then he should have. The guys who do those ratings for Ring are VERY reluctant to make a change at the top even when the fighter in question is clearly showing signs of slipping......especially if no one at the time is really standing out as a deserving candidate.
