you are welcome and entitled to your opinion of your fellow countryman... however others myself included do not rate him as one of the best heavys in history like you do.

You seem to have an almost shielded view of him, I agree like a lot of fighters he has been hyped up. So was Tyson and to some extent Ali even but he was an excellent fighter.

He was also British born and became a citizen of Canada so he was as much your countryman as he was mine.

Why do some people overrate Bowe so much? Took two pastings from D-Level Golota, binned a belt to avoid a real champion in Lewis, and even lost 1 to Holyfield, who was another wildly overrated fighter who lost about 20. God, that era was bad. Don't get me started about the dark days when Mike Tyson "ruled" before Buster took him to the school of Douglas. The Gypsy King era saved Heavyweight boxing. Nash out.

you can’t recognize georges defence capabilities. Who was hitting him so much outside of Ali? Foreman used the saddler style grappling and riding technique which works amazing if the gloves can be opened. He would constantly disrupt his opponents balance and grab the shoulders - any arm punches that got through were rolled.

I agree with Nash out that this odd thread, the effort put in by the thread starter notwithstanding, portrays a Rid**** Bowe that simply never existed except in flashes, or light-boarded against inferior (or past prime) opposition. Though each had their flaws, Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Holmes, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Klitschko, and Fury are Great champions of the past half century. Bowe was not in their class. IMHO, naturally.
