Bowe UD. After a troubling first 3 rounds.

Bowe at his best is at least an even shot to beat any heavyweight in history not named Ali or Louis and I give him a decent chance to beat Louis. I think he's an absolute matchup nightmare. 6'5 with a wingspan like a Condor, good handspeed, big big power, excellent head movement for such a goliath, devastating infighter, heavy, heavy jab...his upside was crazy. If Bowe comes to fight, he KO's Foreman late.

Bowe could not have handled a prime Lewis, hence he avoided him after the Olympic final. I see Foreman winning this one by early stoppage.

Rid**** Bowe's Pernell Whitaker-like defense makes him unsuitable to brawl with a young George Foreman. And he would definitely try, it was in his nature.

What was Bowe so afraid of? Lewis' zombie-like movement around the ring? Lewis was limited athletically, Bowe was not. Now Lennox Lewis was a hell of a fighter with horseshoes and handgrenades power in his right hand and he had the skills to hide his lack of natural athletic ability, but Bowe had a lot of those sames skills and sick natural talent. And he had a better chin. He was inconsistent in his training and a bit of a headcase, but at his best, he would have routed Lewis.

Why do you feel Bowe didnt want too face Lewis? was it just the fact that bowe was a headcase, ive always been slightly confused as too why he wanted no part of LL

I'm not sure, to be honest. I'm not even convinced that he ducked Lewis. I'm not convinced that Lewis ducked him, either. I just can't figure it out and it robbed us of a potentially very entertaining fight.

You tell me? Maybe it was the stoppage defeat to Lewis in the Olympics, maybe Bowe felt the strength and skill of Lewis and thought I cannot beat this guy?

Why did he give up his belt rather than face Lewis?

I would agree at the time Bowe threw the belt away, he was the more seasoned fighter and should have gone on and done more but he obviously lacked something didn't he?

What? We all know what happened, he agreed to fight the winner of Ruddock and Lewis (Ruddock was the then favourite). After Lewis destroyed Ruddock he renounced his title. This was reported by the WBC.
He kept his other titles though.....
