Two fighters with great stamina and determination, who wins this one?
I think Hagler pressures Joe throughout the whole fight landing medium powered shots wearing Joe down them pounces somewhere between rounds 9 - 11 and scores a TKO after a flash knockdown then a severe beating after Joe gets back up.
i think that at catchweight joe would be to fast and his power to demanding for hagler to stand any type of chance, hagler was basically a fighter liked to move forward and throw bombs this is where joe dodges hagler by slipping to the left, slipping to the right all while throwing hard effective body punches,i think joe does enough throughout the fight to win by unanimous decision

can you please go to NSB?
If you dont like what he writes put him on ignore. I dont get this. Your post offers nothing to this topic. The question was posed by a guy who favors Hagler...its not like Calzaghe fans are spamming the boards. Theyre responding to a thread. I think Joe wins. Hagler fought a lot of smaller guys and Joe's size and quickness and his ability to adapt gives him the edge in this I feel. I am a big Hagler fan, he's probably 3rd on my list of mw's after Joe and Jones.
I think he is right. I don't rate Hagler IQ very high (and he is my 2nd fav fighter). For someone who could literally do it all, he made some dumb choices at time.
Fighting Leonard in a 24 ft ring with 10 oz gloves wasn't the brightest choice in the world, but I can't fault his ring IQ. Luring Hearns into a brawl, for example.

I asked him to please go to NSB if possible, because he showed with his post (stating that Hagler just came forward and threw bombs), that he had never seen a prime Hagler (or anything besides his last 3 fights I would add). Since the thread is a about a prime Hagler, clearly he has no business being here.

Boxing orthodox for the first 4 round of the Leonard fight was also not a bright choice, don't you think?
Also, it does not take too much to lure Hearns into a brawl, not the coolest head out there, not the smartest fighter either.
I am not saying Hagler was ******, but when i think of a smart fighter, many would come to mind first.

I like Hagler, I like Hagler a lot, but he is partially right. Not saying all Hagler did was come forward, but he did have a tendancy to throw bombs and throw wild punches, thats not saying he wasnt a great fighter, im just saying Joe didnt ever get caught by that stuff. What hurt him were inside shots when he was off balance and brawling for some unknown reason. Joe liked when fighters got mad, Joe made fighters mad, Hagler would have been crazy against him, but thats what Joe would have wanted. Joe wants those wild shots because he dodges them easily and has the chin that if he got caught he could stay on his feet. JOe might be open to the right hook some and that would be the punch id be concerned with, but Haglers punches just scream to be countered.
