  • Hagler vs Calzaghe Prime for Prime 164 Ibs.

    15 ROUNDS 164 Ibs Catchweight.

Two fighters with great stamina and determination, who wins this one?
I think Hagler pressures Joe throughout the whole fight landing medium powered shots wearing Joe down them pounces somewhere between rounds 9 - 11 and scores a TKO after a flash knockdown then a severe beating after Joe gets back up.

Credit to the dragon is deserved and I think he will last the distance. But I see hagler easily outpointing and out fighting him. Especially with the switch hitting (shudders)

Joe swarms him and gets the quick stoppage in the 3rd round. Joe would be the bigger guy, probably weigh around 175 or so on fight night. Hagler hit hard, but Joe in his time had an iron chin and wouldnt be intimidated. He'd swarm him and bomb on him. No ones going to want to hear this, but Joe was faster than Hagler in every way. Faster reflexes, faster hands, just plain faster. Joe was also smarter, the smartest boxer ive ever seen. He knew exactly where to be and when to be there. People hate Joe so they say he'll get sparked by Hagler, but I think Joe has the chin to take the shots and the speed to dodge them. And he would be throwing 3-4 times as many punches.

stopped reading after the first sentence cause there is no way on earth you could logically explain that conclusion.

This is very, very true. Joe knew exactly how to avoid the best fighters while they were at the top of their game. Joe wasn't no dummy!

Seriously....Joe was a good fighter but he is severely overrated because of his undefeated record against stiffs, nobodies and old men.

You can hate on Joe all you want, but Joe would have beat Hagler and probably get him out of there early. Prime Joe was relentless, had strong hands and was incredibly fast. He had an iron chin and he was fearless. Refs stopped a ton of his fights fast because he would hit a guy 15 times in a row and they couldnt respond. I see Hagler falling in that category. Joe was too fast for him, he would have made Hagler look foolish. Hagler threw hard I am not denying that, but you arent going to KO joe with one punch and hagler threw big punches that would be too slow for Joe, and Joe would just dodge them and keep coming. Most likely Joe would make it harder than it would need to be and want to trade a little bit, but he'd be too big and too fast and he's just too good. Hagler's jab was stinging and powerful, but it wasnt consistent enough to keep Joe away. Hagler would jump in and throw big looping lefts, if he did that against Joe...Joe would dodge and make him pay. Hagler never fought someone like Joe. Joe was fearless and had a unique style.

Im not hating, he was a good fighter. But the fact remains his comp was relatively weak and he gets over rated because of it.

Refs stopped a ton of his fights fast because he would hit a guy 15 times in a row and they couldnt respond.
Refs would stop a ton of his fights because he was the hometown hero. See the Manfredo fight where he missed most of his punches for confirmation.

Im sorry but this is to ****** to even debate about with you. Hagler was a totally different beast than ANYONE Calzaghe ever faced and you're making this out as an easy fight for Joe AND by tko. Two questions.....who has ever stopped Hagler? Who has Calzaghe ever stopped as good as a prime Hagler?

Thank you for having common sense
Joe was tough and this fights going the distance. Prime hagler was unstoppable in the middleweight division. The only fighter in history I have stopping hagler is prime srr at mw but I dont think even srr can.
