Hell, what's the point of traveling around inside trains anyway? You can't see the engine when you're sitting inside a carriage. And you can't film it thundering down the track at 90mph, or sweeping majestically into a station with that big whistle blowing!

Shit .. you can't even see the ID number on the engine from inside a carriage. So how are supposed to log it, photograph it, and post it online to prove that you've even seen it?

And for the record, I wasn't planning on weighing in on this one. I'm not a big proponent of the "lineal champion" as I think it leads to all sorts of problems and absurdities. That being said, the ABC orgs are utterly corrupt and should have unalived decades ago. In my opinion there isn't, at present, any good way for really determining champions other than public perception.....which doesn't always line up with lineal.

Delusional now?. You have Queenie, and who knows what his logic is... You think you have Marge who has a much more nuanced understanding of the lineal in his critique of the title... Hint, he does not claim it does not exist, he questions the value of a historical peerspective regarding the title... He may feel like the plagorized view of the title from Ring created a fictional title, but he also looked at that last point with more thought in subsequent posts....

Let me amend this post as follows: Nobody is trying to browbeat anyone into believing in the power of the lineal traditions. But if you argue something expect to be called out. Some posters here have made it clear they do not think much of the lineal, and that is fine. You are trying to assert that the lineal is a fiction because it is different than the alphabet belts... that just happens to be a very poor argument.
