However it ends, Galento will look like 250 pounds of raw meat. He would be too tough for his own good. Rocky will take those one or two hard shots to deliver four or five of his own. Can't see Galento going more than six rounds before ref stops it.

I've met hundreds of fighters and they tend to have big mitts. Tools of the trade, as it were. Big hands tend to break less easily, would be a fair guess. Also, incidentally; more than one veteran trainer has told me that there is a "much stronger relationship between big hands and punching power than there is between big biceps and power", or words to that effect.
Musicians and surgeons; I guess the opposite is true.

Wrong about musicians, but I agree with the rest.

A fighter's power is delivered more from the tendons and ligaments than the actual bulk of the muscle. That's why some of those tall, skinny lanky guys like Hearns and Arguello hit so hard. They developed the tendons. Big hands always help to absorb the concussion of a punch. Roy Jones and Mayweather had small brittle hands and couldn't deliver very many punches at full power because their hands couldn't stand up to the trauma.

I believe it was Oscar Wilde who wrote about a man with a problem: Talented fighter and talented violin virtousa... He had to decide which way to go!

Boxing tends to be fatalistic when it comes to developing a skill. "This guy can punch... This guy hits like a powder puff." In martial arts one pays careful attention to How to develop power and create a chain from the ground to the target. Dempsey did such a thing with his book as well.

Totally agree this is how it goes down. Galentos robust build and willingness to take punishment will just result in him taking more punches than any man should.
