Marciano is extremely disciplined and gets stronger as the fight goes on. Galento is the opposite. So while Marciano getâs stronger Galento naturally gets weaker compounding the effect.

Galento is tricky but not skillful. He has tricks that worked well against taller guys, he would crouch much like Marciano does forcing the taller guy to punch down and lower himself, making them vulnerable for a leaping attack which is what Galento did. With his low center of gravity it works well.

against Marciano its an inside fight with Marciano beating him up bad throughout the fight, rearranging his face. Especially with them both being Italian I see Galentos mouthy attitude getting him in serious trouble. Thats my take.
Some excellent points. You characterize to Ton Tony very very well. I wish I had thought of those words. But that's an excellent understanding of his nature. Indeed he is a tricky one but not really a skillful one. Really a street fighter...

Yeah they were definitely be a psychological component as well. And the obvious which is despite galento being able to go a decent amount his stamina is no match...

What's your take on how Marciano would handle good left hook? That being the one thing unresolved IMO.

Toxie Hall dropped Marciano in sparring with a left hook.

Walcott did it in a fight.
      .
Galento's slow feet would not allow him to capitalise on it,if he dropped Marciano.

I was thinking Walcott thinking that he threw almost every punch... That's very interesting about the sparring and toxie hall. Great info!

Excellent response as well, not because we are in agreement - but you read and understood everything unlike some posters.

I am sure if Galento lands his left hook he can drop Marciano. I haven’t seen him fight guys his height ever, or how he fares in a phone booth fighting scenario. So the probability of it happening is hard to say.

Lol, that is the one detail that sticks in me craw! But If I had to bet... I think Marciano prevails, as said, probably in about 6 to 8 rounds.

Wrong ,Dempsey got into boxing gear and roughed Galento up,he did not ko him.

The Hall KD happened during sparring for ****ell,Goldman stopped the spar and sent Rocky to the showers.

Marciano ,honest as ever, told British boxing writer Peter Wilson,"it was a real good punch, "but he also put it in its proper perspective when he said,
"it was sparring,in sparring you try different things out."
Watching the Walcott KD, compared to the Moore one ,I would have thought Walcott's one was far more damaging, but Marciano was positive he was fine after Jersey Joe's hook, whereas he said he blacked out for a few seconds after Archie's right connected with his chin.
Rocky never indulged in BS so we must take his word on that.

Moore was really doing well. If a few things went differently during that fight boxing history would be very different. I often love to wonder how such event would alter...

Take somebody like Floyd Patterson. Really fantastic looking fighter. What if for some reason he had never fought liston? I mean the president of the United States asked him not to lol. I can only imagine the arguments that would ensue... Obviously some people would say Patterson was quick and agile and would have beat liston.

Just very interesting to look at events how we know what we know.
