A very poorly cited page. Only six references, which of, olny two, for some reason appear in the actual text. None of the Baer stuff (although most of it sounds possible if not probable) is referenced.
I used Wikipedia, google, CBZ, IBRO and Cox's corner with little more luck than yourself. I have reached out to the IBRO about the "white" championship, specifically asking for anything they may know about a connection with Baer or Savold. They've always been good about getting back to me with any questions I've asked in the past. When I get the email I'll share anything I've learned, but I don't think it'll be much more than we know already.

What I sent to the IBRO....

I'm curious if you could help with information on the "white" boxing heavyweight championship? From what I've found it seems to have ended with Georges Carpentier in 1914. Rumor has it both Lee Savold fought for it before his fight with Joe Louis, and Max baer also (rumor) fought for it against Pat Comiskey. Any information you could provide would be helpful. Thank you.

the reply I received this morning (note there is nothing on Lee Savold ever being or fighting for the "white" heavyweightchampionship)....

Following the outbreak of war in Europe, Carpentier relinquished the ‘white’ title in favor of military service. Smith reclaimed the ‘white’ title, met Cyclone Johnny Thompson (ND-w-pts 6) on September 28, and Battling Levinsky (ND-L pts 10) on October 9, 1914, before losing by kayo to Sam Langford on October 20, 1914. Smith’s title claim never took off, being seen as just another heavyweight thereafter.[i]
The Max Baer – Pat Comiskey fight was not a contest advertised or recognized as the ‘white’ heavyweight title and is not listed in Barry Hugman’s Championship edition.

Lee Savold was still recognized in Great Britain as heavyweight champion until his kayo loss to Joe Louis on June 15, 1951. [ii]

              Good try.

Nothing new to us except Smith's ridiculous attempt to reclaim the title after Carpentier enlisted.

Never underestimate what a promoter will do to build a fight.

The IBRO is at odds with the Wikipedia page that claims Baer's people were pushing a white title against Comiskey.

Funny, but when it comes to history I have little respect for Wikipedia, but that doesn't mean I would allow IBRO to be the final judge of anything either.

I'm thinking about ordering Barry Hugman's championship edition just to reference.
