I didn't think so. I looked into the white heavyweight title pretty extensively the other day and it surprised me when he said it. I suppose nothing should surprise me with the queen though.

Well, its easy to prove me wrong .Just post a primary source that directly contradicts me.
Do that and I will say you are right and I am wrong.
It certainly won't be the first time I was wrong,but it may very well be the first time you are right!

The White Championship ended with Carpentier in 1914. From what I read about the Baer situation it was a publicity stunt to try and get a rematch with Joe Louis. It was said his opponent Pat Comiskey could not have won it anyway, but gives no explanation. I'll look for more.

I finally gave up and went to the Wikipedia page, which is I guess where you went.

A very poorly cited page. Only six references, which of, olny two, for some reason appear in the actual text. None of the Baer stuff (although most of it sounds possible if not probable) is referenced.
