One frame caught JJ in mid fall with his arms slipping over his head and and knees still not flat on the canvas.

JJ used the still to spread the story that the clip proved he threw the fight because he was holding his arm to block the sun and kept his knees up off the canvas because it was blazing hot.

So began the 105 degree blazing sun story, courtesy of JJ in 1921. It was his go to story until 1940 when the full film became avaible and his lie was exposed.

That is what happened. The liar Johnson used the KO photo to indicate the fight was a fix. But anyone who saw the finals rounds of Johnson vs. Willard knows that is BS. When the lie was exposed he changed stories.

IMO, he also made up the story that the Ketchel fight was a fix! It was not a fix, Ketchel was taking a licking and Johnson's face was marked up. This is a man who quit twice in fights, fouled out in another fight, and had his purse held up another time.

Johnson congratulated Willard on his win and said I have no excuses. It was later he said he laid down. You have it chronologically backward.but then you are backward aren't you.
Johnson agreed to carry Ketchel, since he was on a percentage of the film rights it was in his own interest to do so.
A couple of one-sided rounds and then a blow out would not have been financially marketable. Johnson held Ketchel up , and also grabbed him and steadied him to prevent him going down on two occasions.this is easily seen on film and only a hating fool would pretend otherwise.

Johnson retired in 2 fights in 1 he was 48 ,in the other 49.
Johnson and his opponent,Jack Thompson were each fined $500 for stalling.Johnson was 45 years old.

How old was Vitali when he quit against the light hitting, late sub ,34lbs lighter, 5 inches shorter Chris Byrd?
This thread is to analyse Johnson's style it is not a gratuitous opportunity for you to shovel even more of your well documented hate onto Johnson, nor to propagate even more deliberate lies about him.
Get yourself a life you sad ****!

You forgot that Johnson um retired early / quit vs Klon***e in 1899. Two books say he quit in this match. Johnson's treated Ketchel like he did with Burns, hitting & holding Burns up too. Expect that he did not need to admit that was fixed. Ketchel embarrassed him by flooring Johnson and nearly knocking him out. He died shortly after their match, it was only then that Johnson's said it was fixed! Which other fights were fixed for Johnson? Maybe one of the matches that he "won " ?

You did not comment in this thread about Johnson's style, others did.

        Bye bye

          Here is my comment

"Johnson used to stand flat footed, his back foot at a near right angle to his left, wait for his opponent to come in. block and parry his shots and rip him to pieces with uppercuts."
"I never lead, defence will always win ,if it's good enough."Johnson.
          My earlier post.
