In which other fights did Sharkey claim he was fouled ?The only instance I can recall is when, after dropping Carnera in their 1 st fight Primo went down again without being hit.
I didn't think Sharkey's trunks looked high, certainly not compared to recent boxers, like Lewis and Miller's. The blame for Sharkey's ko rests squarely on Sharkey's shoulders imo,he turned his head to the referee and Dempsey took legitimate advantage of that to ko him.

Notice how your clipping says the ref says it wasn't "too low." Then doesn't give a statement from the ref at all.

That's because we already have a statement from the ref. "Not too low" = low. I posted the referee's statement. He clearly says it was low. Period.

Why else would he step in to give a warning, as he admits.

I've watched the fight several times, I see a punch landing on the belt line and his trunks up higher than most other fighters. Jack was getting to him and wearing him down to the body. Sharkey was known to complain to refs often. That was why some of his nicknames were the "Weeping Warrior", "The Lispin' Lith" "The Garrulous Gob". He rightfully complained about Wills and Wills was rightfully DQ'd. He complained a lot about his decision losses too. He was also accused of bending the rules himself. Loughran insisted his loss to Sharkey was a cheap shot.

Dempsey was certainly getting to him.
Wills fouled out because he was getting beaten up imo

Yes, Wills face was a mess. Bloody and swollen. He had a well earned rep as a dirty fighter when things got tough.

We come from a generation where words had meaning... I am younger @60 yrs but I was raised in similar fashion: If you would not say it to a 375 Samoan on Speed, why would you say it to some small guy half your size? It is difficult to see a world where words have lost consequences.

                Just my two cents.

P.S. Is there any possibility of making a 'Read' button available? That way the 'Like' button could be used to mean what it should mean, instead of just confirming allies.
I use the Like button quite a bit lol, I sort of take it literally. Whats not to like right? I mean Zabbars Herring in cream sauce with onions is a taste once acquired, usually induced in the ***ish ******s of NYC, that is the equal to any drug addiction one may encounter!! But alas it is an acquired taste... Most people given a smear and a spoonful? would probably give a look akin to Cheech when Tommy Chong just informes him he drank his sister's urine specimen.

See now there's the problem. I want to let you know I read this but I don't want to "Like" a post about Tommy Chong daughter's urine.

What if I run for office or am a civil employee? I'll get attacked by the right for being a 'pee pervert' and canceled by the left for noting the use of the word "daughter.'

See, no good. I'm being forced into a commitment. Gotta watch who you 'like' around here. They're always watching.
