I'm not really familiar with Slug Fester but have liked some of his posts,I just think he would have been better leaving this one alone.

If he was indeed talking about you and Dr. Z (I don't really think so because he alluded to using the ignore function a couple of times, and obviously you two haven't used it against each other), then your response was very direct and well stated, which I think would prompt an apology. But I don't know much about him either except that he enjoys instigating for posters to confront debates head on. I don't mind it. This all might have been a misunderstanding.

I don't have anything personal against anyone here. But as I always say, I give them what they put out there. If they want to keep it respectful, I'm down for that. Want to get a little nasty about it, I won't turn the other cheek But I'd much rather leave all of the bs out of it and just focus on the facts.

I'm so afraid of him that when he challenged me to a fight him,him being 34, and I 63,and learning that he was coming to London I made a thread on Classic asking him which airport Gatwick or Heathrow he was landing at? I then PM'd him3 times

Requesting the number of his flight and the time it was due to land ?
I told him I would meet him and we could settle it.
He did not reply though he posted on Classic at the same time.He did not acknowledge my messages until he was safely back in the US,and,when I asked him why he ignored them he said ,"who wants a trouble at an airport?"Despite him being the one challenging me.

We are a boxing history section. People new to boxing or newly interested in boxing history come here to read and learn. Way before they post, they lurk, for years. They learn from the posts we make.

If we allow untruth, half-truth, fables, myths, and legends, to go unchecked we do a disservice to those trying to learn and find ourselves in an even larger ocean of ignorant posters.

The posters in history section may not get on, but, pay attention to Ivich's word choice. Liar. Not ignorant. He's not claiming Z does not know, he's claiming Z knows better. So, it may not be nice, and it may be better if we worked together, but the collision of ideas presented by knowledgeable posters does work.


No one should give Ivich **** for standing his ground. Nor Dr. Z for that matter. Standing their ground and arguing their stance is honorable. Ultimately there will never be any enforceable ruling as to who is correct which leaves readers to decide for themselves as opposed to allowing the loudest mouth to control historical narrative in a history section.





Or to say that more quickly, this is an academic section and academia requires challenge. Anything that champions a subversion to challenge is by its nature anti-academic. **** off with that ****.
