Video shows right hand landed on belt line where Sharkey’s trunks were up high. Sharkey was known as a cry baby always looking for the foul. They called him the weeping warrior for a reason. Ironically, he was the one who hit Dempsey after the bell to end the 6th. Since we are using anonymous sources might well contribute.

Did referees back then identify low blows by touching the belt line of a fighter? --> "I won't call this right here, low."

The fighters were likely not wearing kidney belts, so it might mean much if you wear your trunks low or high.

Can someone tell this guy to post a still cap of the punch? Because I've seen two angles of this fight.


In the more common one, Dempsey is in the way and you can't see the low blow. In the other angle, Sharkey is in the way and you can't see the low blow.



So what fight did he see? If he has a version of the fight that makes it clear, why not just show it to us so we can put this topic to rest?????????

Has anyone ever found a source, circa 1920s, that calls Wills dirty?

For me, there is only the cheap, after the bell, KD of Firpo, (which the referee refused to acknowledge) which took some of the steam out of Firpo. He catches the punch flush and unprepared.

Then there are a few Wills DQs but that's not uncommon for the period.

I wonder. Did this reputation exist in the 1920s?

Requesting the number of his flight and the time it was due to land ?
I told him I would meet him and we could settle it.
He did not reply though he posted on Classic at the same time.He did not acknowledge my messages until he was safely back in the US,and,when I asked him why he ignored them he said ,"who wants a trouble at an airport?"Despite him being the one challenging me.
I was also in NY a few years ago staying in Upper 44th St opposite the famous Jiimmy's Corner Boxing Bar,I gave him dates and the address of my hoteI and offered to meet him then, he said it was too far to come.I have a photo of me with the owner Jimmy Glenn .which was my avatar on Classic
This is easily verifiable for anyone who is on Classic.
So, maybe best not to comment on matters of which you are totally ignorant!

Truth is, I don't care anything about him. It's not personal for me. The only thing I can't stand is his blatant agenda driven lies and refusal to admit when he is wrong.

I was not privy to your argument so have no opinion on it .Ghost and myself are civil with each other and I have hopes that will continue,we shall see.As I said to him there are only 2 posters here I have no time for.Z and Queensbury Fool. I was wrong about an aspect of Duran's training on Classic and a poster,very politely corrected me I acknowledged my mistake WTF it didn't cost me anything to say I was wrong!
I'm not really familiar with Slug Fester but have liked some of his posts,I just think he would have been better leaving this one alone.
