Historians are professional opinion givers, you should take their opinions with a grain of salt, you can watch tapes taking a neutral stance and make a conclusion for yourself, this is the best way.

What I've always noticed on this site is the following:

-Boxing Historians are held in high regard.

-If said historians actually go against popular opinion then their credibility is questioned if not downright insulted. All of a sudden they should be held with a grain of salt, when before that they were used as fuel in arguments about popular opinions.

It's a snobbish club in the world of boxing history. It's like they don't want boxing history to do what it does best: make history. The book is closed for them. No more room for future greats. Time stands still.
