I'm amazed at how people seem to think Matthyse is a much better boxer than Maidana.
The thing about maidana is he can force people to fight his fight. He did get through to Khan in round 10 and in some spots earlier too. He lost, but it was a competitive fight. He also (even more impressively) pulled Ortiz into the trenches, broke him and stopped him. Matthyse has never done anything of ths sort.
Maidana wouldn't have let Alexander and Judah go the distance the way Matthyse did. He would have forced it better
KOing Ortiz and Hurting Khan badly in FOTY is better than Going about even with Judah/Alexander.
Maidana > Matthyse
"blead to death by the 8th 9th round" :lol1:
A great insight , thanks for posting.
cool video and nice guy, honestly can't stand that god damn interviewer
Elie Seckbach - you either love him or hate him. Not gonna lie, he's grown on me, probably because he gets videos with all the big names (he seems to get access everywhere) :ugh:
His sucking up, terrible questions etc really kill it though
I don’t think anyone at 140lbs can be classed as elite with the exception of maybe Khan and Bradley but I wouldn’t be comfortable in calling them truly elite at this point.
Zab has losses to people far below elite level (so should Alexander for that matter).
I agree no-one is elite as such, but relative to the 140lbers, Khan and Bradley are (if you see what i mean?)
As a big Khan fan, i'll tell you Ortiz is the worst match up from 140-147 apart from Pac/May obviously.
Not saying Amir can't win, but i wouldn't be surprised if Ortiz's combination of quick feet, good skills and good power forced Khan to open up more, and i can see Ortiz doing some major damage if he gets through.
They are destined to meet some time down the line. I sense GBP are waiting for the right moment :boxing:
Khan tried to fight Morales. That's not a good thing. Yeah, Maidana is a cherry-picker, no doubt about that. He will probably fight Vivian Harris or someone like that next.
Rhodes KO7 Alvarez
Yeah, i think Rhodes has got this one in the bag too. I don't think a 20-year-old can handle his power.
Khan tried to fight Bradley first. Judah was the second best opponent after that. Guerrero and Morales were back up options.
The Bradley fight fell through, so Judah it was. Morales may have been approached, but he was never going to be their first choice
Didn't Judah lose to Baldomir in his prime?
Honestly, it depends on what version of Judah shows up. He certainly has all the skills and athleticism required to beat Khan, but i'm not sure about the other components
Mosley would win in an all out war
Don't judge Shane from how he looked against Pacquiao/Floyd
Mosley can take shots much better than Tito ever could. You all seem to be under the illusion that because Shane would stand and trade he'd get KO'd. Mosley can hurt Trinidad more than Trinidad could hurt him. Power Boxing would suit Mosley against a fighter like Tito
For those picking Tito by KO - Let me tell you something about Shane's chin. He's been down 3 times as a PRO/AMATEUR. Over 2 decades:
- Dropped twice in round 2 against Vernon Forrest. And this happened seconds after a major headbutt (Mosley got cut)
- Dropped once against Pacquiao. 10/1 underdog, widely expected to get KO'd. Shane is a completely shot 40 year old now, and he still got up from the KD and ended the fight on his feet. He was never on queer street
- NEVER KO'd, and has fought as high as 154. Has fought lots of ELITE fighters: DLH(x2), Vargas(x2), Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mayorga, Forrest(x2), Cotto, Margarito, Winky(x2)
You think Trinidad could have taken flush right hands from Mosley like Margo did (till he caved in after 9 rounds)? Really? Shane in his prime had no problems with fighters who were willing to engage :boxing:
Disclaimer: No offence to Trinidad fans
Not interested in those traitors thnx I guess the fact more non blacks r in this thread just proves my intial thoughts
:pat: Ali and Hopkins - traitors? Come on...
Leave my thread bro.
Maidana was up against 2 men that night. I forgot who reffed the fight, I think it was Joe Cortez. He was holding back Maidana every chance he could get.
Some people take that 'Maidana was up against 2 men' thing too far. Breaking them up gave Maidana more room to punch. If Cortez hadn't you'd accuse him of bias for letting Khan hold...
Khan won't fight Maidana, but just tried to fight a guy who Maidana just beat. Shameful.
There's so much wrong with this post lol
- Khan just fought and beat Maidana
- I didn't know Maidana beat bradley?
- If you're referring to Morales, Maidana cherry-picked him and got embarrased by a washed up featherweight...
Nevermind that though, how do you see Rhodes-Alvarez going?
Just move him up to 140, give him to Roach, feed him Kotelnik, Salita, and Malignaggi, then claim his chin has improved under Freddie Roach. Then put him against Maidana, a one dimensional sloppy power puncher, beat him and say Linares has a good chin/heart.
 LMAO at a Roy jones supporter taking shots at a fighter (who's only 24) supposedly being 'fed' bums.
He's more aware in the ring and better at picking his shots. He has more power at 140 and he still has the fastest hands out there. Couple that with Khan's weak chin and his Manny wannabe jump in flurries, I see Zab knocking him out with a check hook, Khan leaves himself too open for it.
Well make sure you don't disappear after the fight :fing02:
There's something that makes your stomach churn when fighters lose control. It looks worse than when someone gets KO'd cold.
Khan doing deer-legs against Prescott
Judah chicken-dancing after taking a right-hand against Tszyu
Montiel kicking his legs on the floor against Donaire
Mabuza out on his feet, and bends over against Judah
khan is arrogant. he thinks he automatically deserves love from the british people.
He's nowhere near as arrogant as most people think. he's not really arrogant at all tbh
"he thinks he automatically deserves love from the british people"
He does get an unnecessary amount of hate from the media here in the UK, although it has gotten better since his win over Maidana. I think he gets annoyed because IT IS unjustified, especially when you think Khan is an Olympic silver medallist, world champion and a top 140lber (one of the best divisons in boxing), one of the top 2 boxers in the UK atm (after Froch) and all that at the age of 24.
Wow, just read through this thread and you'll see the OP's point.
Go on youtube, and most videos with Khan will have tons of garbage in the comments section.
I doubt Khan would have any problem taking the tests.
But it depends on how much influence Roach has. He would no doubt be against it - because if Khan took the tests and Manny was against taking them, it would look VERY suspicious...
I don't think Roach could anything about it if GBP (who are affiliated with Mayweather) wanted Khan to take OSDT.
It's a moot point anyway, because Judah didn't bring any of this up when the contract was signed, so Khan's not obliged to do anything now.
People hate him because he's a cocky twat and 90% of his fans have never seen boxing in their life and talk too much ****. He's kinda like the LeBron James of English Boxing. Someone with a fanbase that has never seen that sport and blindly swallow anything he does or says.
Nobody cares about his color or religion, its his twat fans who never seen a boxing match before Amir Khan. and Amir is known as the original twitter e-thug
Great example right there of the sort of mentality this stems from...
I can't wait for Zab to pull off this upset. There are only a handful of people on this site giving him a chance. Zab's bandwagon is going to be plenty full come Sunday.
Dude, just look at this thread :ugh:
A lot of people think Judah will win, and many more think he he has a good chance to KO Khan early
... come Sunday they'll be saying Judah was shot
