Dan, Always thought highly of the talent of Jorge Linares, and believe he just got caught cold in the Salgado fight. Hooking up with Freddie Roach could put his career on a whole different plane. Like him better at 130, but even at 135, can't see him losing to a limited DeMarco, if the fight comes off. Your thoughts?

I pretty much agree with what you have said, but Linares has a notoriously poor chin from what I have heard about his gym work.
Linares really let that loss derail his career.
He really did. I remember when Lampley was kissing his ass calling him the next Sugar Ray Robinson. How the mighty have fallen. I like the guy though, it's sad to see what he has become.
Just move him up to 140, give him to Roach, feed him Kotelnik, Salita, and Malignaggi, then claim his chin has improved under Freddie Roach. Then put him against Maidana, a one dimensional sloppy power puncher, beat him and say Linares has a good chin/heart.
 LMAO at a Roy jones supporter taking shots at a fighter (who's only 24) supposedly being 'fed' bums.
Linares had a good chin before his KO loss and I haven't seen any evidence it's not as good today. Of course he's more cautious now but he's building his confidence back up fight by fight.
It would seem that if he was barely concentrating on boxing before that maybe he is now redirecting his attention to the sport by teaming up with Roach
first off fukk Dan that fat douche hasn't been to a boxing gym on his own in years so for him to comment on what other's have witnessed .....
as to why I replied to you it's not the loss it's his disinterest in the sport as a whole. I don't think he cared for the sport to begin with so he kind of does his own thing then fights in between
kind of like Jose Luis Lopez if you remember him. He take or leave boxing as long as it paid his lifestyle he was happy
I read about that. I even heard he was considering retiring. With him moving from Japan to LA just to train I would hope its a little more serious than just a weekend thing for him.
Maestrito was a ****ing waste of talent though, and look what ended up happening to him? He came back years later, out of shape with jiggly man-tits fighting for pennies on Solo Boxeo. Linares should really use Lopez's situation as fuel to not want to be in that position when he gets older.
Are you familiar with Juan Carlos Salgado? I'm not all that familiar with him, but I know a little and he's not a virtuoso type boxer, if he can touch Linares, why can't Kats.
You do know that Linares is a SFW right? He hasn't seen power like Kats.
And BTW for everyone in here, Linares wasn't ko'd on his chin, it was a temple shot if I remember correctly.
kats lays linares out
Feeding some one to Katsidis doesn't make any sense. It would be Katsidis being fed to Linares.
His win over Mitchell really resurrected his career, but other than that he losses every fight against top fighters. Diaz, old Marquez, Guerrero, old Casamayor. He'd lose to Linares.

he was a good pro...good skills...Luevano was actually just a throw in...Top Rank was very high on his cousin, Marshall Martinez who was supposed to be a blue chipper
He looked great destroying Nicky Cook.
I know Cook isn't really world class but he's still pretty good and probably should have beaten Rocky Martinez.
i heard Luevano was like that too...
I dunno if it's just me but I always thought this guy was superb from the few fights I'd seen before I came on here. But nobody here thought he was much.
He was also knocked down by Rachid Drizlane.
To be fair, I really think he did trip on the ropes but it was still a legitimate knockdown.
But Khan for absolute certain is going to get knocked out again, possibly a few times. It's just the hand he's been dealt.
I don't think anyone can deny Khan's punch resistance has improved.
This is a man almost KTFO by Willy Limond, and knocked down by a short-hook by Michael Gomez.
No need to even mention Prescott.

Demarco is the kind of fighter in a few years who ends being extremely good. He's fighting very tough fights at a young age and win or lose I can see him being a beast when he really hits his stride.
to bad he has a wack promoter.

He will lose soon.Goldenboy should just feed him to kats or bronner
