Floyds hasnt beat his opponents like Pac does. Pac has the better resume and beats people better than Floyd.
There common opponents are DLH and Hatton and Pac did much, much better. SSM was exposed for the competent boxer he is against Mora. SSM is nothing more and nothing less than that, competent.
Floyds outboxing SSM has to be taken into context. Everything Pac has done owns what Floyd has done. The only saving grace for Floyd would be if he could beat Pac, but he dont seem to want it.
So Floyd making a no win situation for himself almost.
They've fought two fighters who are the same and Pacquiao did take care of them more efficiently than Mayweather did to be fair. However, Mayweather did fight the much, much better versions of these fighters. De La Hoya was blatantly a weight drained shell of himself and Hatton has always been overrated but regardless of that, he was not the same fighter he was before the Mayweather loss.
Having said what I said above, Pacquioa does have a better resume IMO, but don't compare the fighters that they've both fought. Mayweather did fight better 'versions' of both of them.
He's goin to jail so he's got no leverage...wouldnt be surprised if he swallowed his pride and took a lesser cut
Floyd swallowing his pride?! He's much too arrogant to even let that thought cross his mind.
tony ain't gonna run.
i think he'll go out guns blazing.
slow single action cowboy guns but still guns blazing.
i don't know if pac can hurt marg.
If Mosley can knockout Margarito, I reckon Pacman stands a good chance.
Cotto - Margarito II hands down.
Winner gets a shot at Martinez (maybe) because I wouldn't mind seeing Martinez avenge both his losses on his record. And Cotto might be full of confidence if he avenges his loss against Margarito as well which could make for an interesting fight.
Having said that, I think Martinez would beat both these fighters at the moment.
AA did some acting in the Froch fight too.
he didn't like the punches to the side of his head or the shots to the body
Yeah, he definately took a tip or two from Dirrell's book. Pretending he got low blowed and was hurt from a shot to the back of the head haha.
nah, fuuck that. Haye would be fighting Klitschko for Klitschko's belt, not the other way around. On top of that Haye consistently states he's going to retire next year anyway so no point in defending and fighting mandatories if you're master plan is to fight the klitschko's then retire.
Haye needs to fight klitschko or fuck off.
Besides, no one gives a damn about Chagaev
Although he has said many times that he will retire this year, I can't see this happening. And personally I think he needs a few more fights before a Klitschko anyway to increase his chances of winning.
Vlads 4 belts plus the lineal title>>>>>>>>>Hayes worthless belt
But the belt isn't worthless, although Wlad already holds the majority of the belts, Vitali's stated that he wants the WBA belt so all the belts are in the family. So the belt does provide him with a foot to stand on in negotiations and IMO is the only way he'll get the split he's looking for (if he gets it at all).
My vote is more out of hope for Macklin winning but he is capable of beating him. It would be a very interesting fight that I'd want to see as well but the points raised above is probably the story of the fight. Never know though, it is boxing.
WTF are you talking about?
No they dont
And Wards fight is outside of the Super 6 tourney
Nah he's right. They did just say that but it's all dependent on method of victory. There's a big chance they'll rematch next year.
Ward got gifted 2 points because Direll left the competition so I spose it's only right to award him with those points.
Froch vs Kessler
Burns vs Martinez
Marquez vs Katsidis
Pavlik vs Martinez (I thought was class)
It hasn't been that weak, just all the good fights happened in the earlier part of the year. Khan Maidana could be in that list soon as well.
This is too easy
Rocky Martinez vs Ricky Burns hands down.
you guys are joking with pac-marg and haye-harrison right?.... right?
That was a quality fight, one of my favourites of this year. And possibly upset of they year?
Froch vs. Kessler. Very good, competitive fight that could have gone either way IMO.
They showed the last 3 rounds before the Froch fight last night and some of the shots that they were landing and kept going was ridiculous. I think I'm edging towards this fight to be fair; Burns Martinez should be called upset of the year as no one was expecting that outcome. Was a very very good fight though.
But this year hasn't been that bad at all like a lot of you were saying, it's just the big fights that are well televised/advertised/promoted etc haven't been the best or have given boxing a bad name (Haye Harrison); so it doesn't make boxing look good in the casual fans eyes. The fights with not as much public attention have been (in some cases) outstanding and all in all it's been a good year in boxing.
Anyway, Bat posted a thread last night that said Abraham told the press that he was dropping out of the tournament. Hope he reconsiders but after that performance, maybe not.
Who can come into replace him if he leaves though? Might as well just make the Froch Ward final now.
He might connect and take him out, you never know. But he's too one dimensional and gets stupidly wild when things don't go his way. Dirrell and Froch have given him the blueprint though and he's got the skill to do what they did.
I think this tournaments exposed him but he is still a very good fighter at what he does but just can't seem to adapt and change as the fight goes on. Sure he'll be back though if loses his next fight as well.
I know he was struggling to make weight at middleweight but can you see him moving division (up/down) at the end of this? Because in all fairness he's been poor at this weight class.
I've got nothing but respect for him. He's a talented fighter who will win a title at the weight eventually. His next fight should be against a high ranked fighter as well, no need to bother with this back down too a lower class BS. He's world class IMO and fought a very good fight against a top 3 p4p fighter (again IMO).
Good choices, I would also add Calderon/Segura to that list
I'll have to watch that fight then, haven't seen it yet. Probably in video trading block no doubt.
Khan doesn't need to fight him again at the moment, Khan's a much better boxer and would beat him in a rematch. Besides, Prescott couldn't beat Kevin Mitchell, why should Khan rematch him?
Prescott exposed Khan's flaws in that fight but now they've been corrected, Khan would beat him IMO.
he JUST moved to 160..if anyone wants to fight him they can move up to 160 or move down to 160
Exactly, he shouldn't need to move anywhere, he's the champ in a real weight division!
