I enjoyed the ko in the sense that it was a spectacular moment in boxing history. I also enjoyed it cause it was my chance to rub it in on all the fanboys who said Pac was the best ever. I don't have too much sympathy for the memes cause if Floyd or JMM were to get koed in the same fashion they would get the same treatment and it's just part of sports now with the social media.
Broner vs De Leon
If broner and de Leon had never fought and someone would ask me who would win...I would have said broner crushes him in under 3 rounds (because of styles and cause I'm a fan of broner) but look how the fight REALLY played out. No matter how much common sense or knowledge of the sport you have you will never exactly know how a fight will turn out till it actually happens.
Another STUPID thread here. What on planet Earth would make any of you think Marquez even has a remote shot of defeating Cotto? What disrespect this is to even be analyzing it in your heads. Cotto would KO Marquez because he is too small. PERIOD! Stop trying to make Marquez bigger than his PED body already is. He will never be better than Manny Pacquiao so forget it! What Manny did, Marquez cannot duplicate. He would not have beaten the fighters Manny did on his historic run. Manny is more special than Marquez. It's not always about cute cunter-punching and boxing skills. IDIOTS. He's a great fighter but I have lost all respect for him because in my heart and with my common sense, I KNOW what went down on December 8th.
The only thing that WENT DOWN on Dec 8 was Manny's face on the canvas now get over it.
Oh and by the way, I picked Cotto based on size difference but I know JMM would try to win regardless.
Top Rank announced today that the Martinez-Chavez PPV, set for tomorrow night from Las Vegas, will be offered as a digital PPV online as well. The four-bout PPV will be available for $49.95 online and use the MLB Advanced Media tech to add multi-angles to the broadcast.
“This pay-per-view offering will complement our current distribution which appeals to sports fans who are engaged in digital platforms on a daily basis. The response was so positive when we did this previously, which was for Pacquiao-Bradley in June, and Pacquiao-Mosley and Pacquiao-Marquez III last year we knew there would be an even bigger demand for Chávez Jr.-Martínez. Sports viewing has entered a new frontier and Top Rank, which has always been at the forefront of integrating new technology to enhance the fans’ experience, will be adding more live digital platforms to future world championship boxing events,” said Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank.
Fans can check out the online version of the PPV at www.toprank.tv.
_________
It won't be the HBO-PPV version though, I'm pretty sure. Likely gonna be the international telecast with Barry Tompkins commentating.
This works, thanks man!
We always hear this shit every year.then bam we get more and more warriors.
Montiel
Canelo
Perro
Mares
Jr even though he's overated
Benavidez
Frankie Gomez
All fighters that have become bigger names this past yr or future greats
Hell yeah I agree. I hate it when they say Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters are done. There's no end to these warriors.
exactly but unfortunately they only watch pac fights dnt no who anyone else is
Even if this thread was about potatoes rollin down a hill somehow Mayweather and Pac would be mentioned.
Most boxers look faster, great and refreshing in training, But when you have been in around boxing you need to ignore that **** and look at both fighters last few fights and their respective attributes going into their next fight, And looking at Margarito at the moment he has nothing that makes him a threat to Pacquaio.
Mosley looked horrible before the Margarito fight. Very few gave Mosley a shot to beat Tony and look what happened. Time will tell.
Is this good for boxing?
Obviously not. It's funny, all these boxing promoters want more attention for boxing yet they continue with these controversies which in turn reminds people why boxing is "dying."
o.k thats why you all got latin last names...cause you've never been conquered...haha...the spanish ran through your women like mike tyson at a strip club in the early 90's
whats your name braggert?
pino pang chi lopez.
tool.
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees this fight the same. Clottey doesn't throw enough punches so Cotto will just outbox him. I'm not a Cotto hugger either, I'm going for Clottey but I know he won't win. Cotto by wide UD or late TKO.
Peek-a-boo stance
Winky Wright
Floyd Patterson
Eddie Chambers
Arthur Abraham
etc
Shoulder Roll
James Toney
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Floyd Mayweather Sr.
etc
The Peek-a-boo is my favorite, I like how it confuses my sparring partners sometimes because they see no immediate openning so it buys me precious seconds to pick my next shot. But shoulder roll is amazing to watch because it takes mad skill to do.
Marquez is still my boy, he fought his heart out. I really thought it was going to be a quick night for floyd but Marquez fought like he always does and didn't quit like odlh. MAD PROPS TO HIM.
JCC Jr. Never fights anyone who can fight back and still gets challenged.
EXACTLY! That glorified bum is by far the most protected. Berto is protected too but atleast he stepped up to Collazo.
Without a doubt Cotto is the better boxer, but we all know that speed kills so I guess if Cotto can neutralize manny's speed, then the fight will go to him.
All the weight-draining isn't going to change your handspeed in the opening few rounds. He couldn't pick a punch. Manny's moving like he's in fast-forward compared to Oscar who looks static by comparison. Cotto will be even slower in my opinion. I like both fighters and wouldn't mind if Cotto proved me wrong. But I just can't see how he's going to land, Pac's movement is too much.
Dude chill, you make it sound as if packy has that Whitaker defensive movement.
Out here in Las Vegas they were only showing the fight in two casinos, Sam's town and Santa Fe Station and both sold out. I was one of the people that didn't think this would happen but to my surprise, many people were all into it. I don't believe boxing is dying.
