Nothing wrong with challengers going to the champion's home in pursuit of a title......quite common actually.
How many times has Hopkins fought outside of America?
It's not about where you fight, it's who you fight.
I'm not discrediting Kessler, but it's obvious he was being protected. 40 sum fights and rarely ever faught outside of his country. Very few notable opponents, although he's definitely got a great skillset and was finally tested against opponents like Andrade and Calzaghe, it just took him awhile to actually get out of there. But your delusional if you think he's been fighting top level competion consistantly. Face it, the US is where every big name fighter comes to fight, it's the big bucks here, so don't try to make that arguements of Hopkins not leaving the US, because that just ridiculous, although I know what you were getting at. And yea, obviously its who you fight, but who all was it that Mikkel Kessler faught in Denmark? The type of guys you'd have to check Boxrec for. Like I said, I'm not discrediting Kessler at all, but it's obvious he's was being protected by his managment.
Obviously, JCC Jr......Undefeated, fighting bums in Mexico
Oscar De La Hoya I think..... I saw a video of him sparring with one of those full face helmets and a groin shell and everything
errr....that is not what is meant by the OT :haha: you made my day buddy....
JCC Jr. Never fights anyone who can fight back and still gets challenged.
EXACTLY! That glorified bum is by far the most protected. Berto is protected too but atleast he stepped up to Collazo.
mikkel kessler - protected? are you f*ckin stupid? hes consistently faced top 10 fighters and his level of competition was increased until he faced joe.
What are you talking about? Hes only faught outside of Denmark 2 times. How is that not protected. Your a ****ing deluded groupie.
Nigel Benn was in Warren's stable. So was Calzaghe. Haye isn't, good for him. He's too big egomaniac to let himself be steered by anybody as controlling as Warren.
Warren was not with Benn for long if i remember right.
Calzaghe has lots of ?? about his resume.
Thats not what they mean when they say protected..... lmfao
Theres alot of foreign fighters who stick in Europe that have declined offers from top level fighters, but as for notable ones, definitely Berto, and Mikkel Kessler, although Kesslers case had to do with his managment.
mikkel kessler - protected? are you f*ckin stupid? hes consistently faced top 10 fighters and his level of competition was increased until he faced joe.
imo berto is the most protected and kelly pavlik and khan deserve a mention. i can forgive fighters like jcc jnr because hes had little am experience and still needs to build his CV but imo if you're a title holder then you're no longer a prospect or contender and you need to face every type of fighter from and a high quality of fighters.
pavlik seems to be only matched with LMW's and the likes of rubio. khan doesn't want to get in with anyone who has a punch and berto is the same. right now id say berto is the most protected because at least kelly has faced some good comp and khan himself is still very young.
