Remember the guy is young. He gots power, goes to the body, and has a chin. I could see him as champ in a few years.
But, he does look like he may have weight problems in the near future. I think once this kid gets a little lazy, his career will be ruined.
Can anyone give a comparison on how Tua and Ike where at this stage of their careers?
1. Pac-Marquez 2
2. Corrales-Castillo
3. Trinidad-Hopkins 2
4. Trinidad-de la Hoya 2
5. Gatti-Hatton
6. Kostya-Gatti
7. Toney-Jirov 2
8. Vitali-Ruiz
9. Calzaghe-Lacy
10. Vargas-Mayorga :)
Yeah, Vargas-Mayorga will probably be tops on my list. I hope to god that this one happens.
You guys act like KT is a prime Mike Tyson by saying bullshiit like all he has to do is just land one and it's over. But you guys don't give Floyd credit for his great defense. He never leaves his chin out.
I'm telling you, PBF will make KT look Mayorga-like.
Hopkins Will Retire After Tito Knocks His Face In.he Will Get Hit More Than The Last Fight And Hopkins Will Go Down In 6.
Relax bro, Tito wasn't even close to beating Hopkins. And Tito hitting Hopkins more than the last fight isn't saying much because Tito didn't really land much.
I like Tito, but he needs to whoop DLH first to gain some invincibility back to stand a chance with Hopkins. And it will let Bernard age a little bit more.
Tito will be an all time great fighter when he is done boxing.
I know, I know, alot of people on these boxing forums hate it when someone considers one of todays fighters as "great", but you guys need to get your daddy's d1ck out of your mouth. Anyone here who actually boxed before can see alot of greatness about his boxing style. Also Tito fought all the dangerous fighters, he can get up from the canvas, gots power in both hands, and can close the show.
What more do you need to do to be considered great these days? Move up to HW and beat the HW champ, nope that's been done, didn't work.
When that guy sucker punched the other boxer without gloves, just tape on his hands after he lost the dec. The other boxer was going over to give him a good fight hug too.
Mayorga has a good chance. I am picking Mayorgy by KO in the early rounds.
I think alot of people underestimate Mayorga's quickness. If Tito does, it is over early.
I'd also like to see how Mayorga takes Tito's power.
Rahman wasn't walking through Sanders' punches. Rock got dropped multiple times. I didn't see Tua drop Rahman. Everyone knows that Sanders can bang. I didn't see Vitali get scared when Lennox hit him. You must be getting him mixed up with his brother.
Vitali will not get beat anytime soon.....so sux for you.
The Augustus fight was the worse. It was like the Roy Jones loss in the Olympics, pure BS.
The Pac-Marquez fight was a bad decison. 115-110 Marquez??? Why where Pac's people pissed, and Marquez's people okay with the decision?
A knockdown = minus 1 point, that's part of the rules. Not taking the point is just like scoring a touchdown and not getting points for it.
I think Diego would be more open to Morales shots and not have the speed to give him trouble like Juan Diaz.
Diego goes down when the punches are right on the button (his chin), and that is Morale's strength. He will tag diego on the righ on the chin repeatedly and it will look a lot like when Diego fought mayweather.
They wont be damaging shots but diego will keep going down. His corner and the ref wont have a choice.
Morales is no where as quick as Mayweather. And he has no where close to the power of Frietas so how will Morales be able to put Diego down repeatedly if he couldn't even hurt Barrera?
Corrales won't even have to land clean shots to put Morales on his ass.
I see this as a huge mismatch. If this fight happens we may see Morales crying "No Mas".
In a handful of years:
Jermaine Taylor will be the next Roy Jones in terms of how decisively he beats opponents.
Jermaine Taylor-Jeff Lacy will be a huge fight.
We will argue over whether Paulie Malignaggi will lose the next fight because he doesn't have KO power - and he'll win an easy decision to defend his belt.
Robert Guerrero will rule the featherweights or lightweights.
We will laugh when we look back at heavyweight champion Dominick Guinn and say, "Remember when this guy lost to Monte Barrett?"
I don't think Jermaine Taylor can be the next Roy Jones because he doesn't dominate the same way Roy can.
But, who do you think is going to be the next Golden Boy?
I think they tried with Bojado, but he was a bust. How about Ponce de Leon?
Oh please
He won the fight fair and square. Fact is he busted Vitali up so bad with his fist he could not continue. That fight goes two more rounds Vitali's eye would have popped out of the damn socket.
Vitali had a golden oppertunity in from of him. Vitali fought a fat, old and out of shape Lewis and STILL got beaten.
This is one thing that kills me about boxing fans. We beg and cry for Evander to get out because he's clearly hurting himself, yet Lewis walks away on top and he gets critasized too. I mean what is it?
Lewis is 39 years old, has all his brain cells, all his money, a new family and is kicking back on a beach in Jamcia right now. He noticed his heart wasn't in it anymore and walked away on top.
Good for Lennox
Dude, Lewis was getting his ass beat. And fight wouldn't go 2 more rounds because Lewis would NOT have made it through the next round. I like Lewis better than Vitali and the cut was worth stopping the fight, but come on, you act like Lewis was putting on a boxing lesson. Again, Lewis was getting his ass beat and he got lucky that Vitali got cut.
And because The Champ was getting his ASS BEAT, people are mad that there was no rematch. If Lewis was doing the ass whoopin, then no one would be upset about not rematching Vitali.
I like Hopkin's trash talk.
Mayorga is pretty good too.
Toney is just too much. I used to like his trash talking, but now it's looking childish. I know that he's just promoting himself, but he's over doing it big time.
Tito did waaaaaaaay better than Oscar!
First off, did Oscar even land a clean blow? Maybe a jab here and an arm punch there, but he never landed a good punch.
Tito was landing his punches at a moderate rate, and they where not weak punches either.
Hopkins didn't even have to work that much in his fight with Oscar, but with Tito he fought his ass off.
Plus De La Hoya was screaming like he got raped, nuff said.
I am currently doing a field operation in Hawaii, and missed the fight. Is it worth watching? can somebody post it? this is the worst time to be deployed, i will also miss the Toney fight, as well as Trinidad/Mayorga. and Roy jones comeback.
Does that mean you can't even make it to Waikiki or Honolulu?
I live in Hawaii and saw the fight at a sports bar. The big fights are usually shown at All Star Cafe in Waikiki or East Side Grill near University of Hawaii, both nice places. Sometimes hotels such as the Sheriton or Marriot will show them too.
I would think Morales has a better chance of getting caught by Pac then Barrera or JMM getting caught by Pac.
I don't see Morales beating Pac because he gets hit too too much.
I don't like to get too excited when nothing is for sure, but this is definetly a dream fight matchup that guarantees fireworks.
It was a even fight i agree but Lennox's punches had abit more in them than Vitali's did. I enjoyed watching it, i was shocked that it was actually happening. All the build up was worth it. I respect Lennox's decision for retiring, he had achieved everything he needed to in his career. Vitali seemed to think he needed Lennox bad but he will have his own fights and maybe his own sucessful legacy.
:D I also forgot to add that the fight was even and it was a out of shape Lennox so technically if he would have been in shape we MAY have seen a different fight. Either way it was definatly the biggest fight out there.
The fight wasn't even. Vitali was ahead, quit fooling your self by your biases. But like you said, Vitali needed Lennox to get his claim to fame. Now that Lennox is retired, there are no big fights for Vitali unless he fights his brother or Roy, but that ain't going to happen.
If it was an out of shape Lennox or not, it doesn't matter. In boxing it is about being in top condition every fight.
Technically you could say...
...if Vitali came in better shape he could have KO'd Lewis in 1.
...if DLH trained taking punches to the body, he may have came out on top.
...if Roy Jones' glove was an inch forward, he would have beat Tarver.
...if I got the best trainers and everything, I would be the one to knock off Hopkins.
However, it was a good fight none the less, but i didn't proved who was better that night. But it did prove that Lewis does not have a glass jaw like most people think.
u fuckin ignorant bitches that say dlh sucks
have u forgot about his wins against PERNELL WHITAKER, ike quartey, arturo gatti, fernando vargas, julio caesar chavez, jesse james leija, hector camacho, miguel angel gonzalez,Rafael Ruelas, ETC.
We have not forgot, or are saying DLH sucks because obviously he may be the greatest figher in this era. But this is about his fight with big bad Bernard.
And tell me, what did DLH do in the Hopkins fight that impressed you?
I think they would both beat Oscar. Tito by dec, Mayorga by KO. Right now, I don't think Oscar is going to be the same figher he has been.
I'd like to see both fights before Oscar retires.
If Mayorga beats Tito I'd like to see him fight Hopkins first because I worry about his age, then DLH.
hahaha
oh ok
I see someone is a little bias
But if you read the examples I wrote, you will find everything to be true. That is what I based my assesment on.
My conclusion:
Doing something and paying for it(Tito) is better than doing nothing and paying for it(DLH).
A Toney vs Jirov match can be built up to be a huge fight, that's if Jirov keeps winning.
I'd like to see Jirov vs Tarver. I think Jirov can KO him, which will put Jirov in the publics eye for sure.
The Jirov-Moorer should be pretty good, especially for being on FOX Sports.
I think Ike KO's Lewis within 5.
There is no way Lewis can box circles around Ike. Ike is alot more mobile and has faster hands.
I see Ike coming out throwing bombs and Lewis being outmuscled and has no choice but to throw back, then CRACK!!!
