I was watching Ike's fights with Tua, and Byrd last night. I think that Ike would have caught up to Lewis, and KOed him in about 10 rds. What do you guys think????

yep he could of,but unfortunately he is in jail for been a dumass
I'm pretty tired of the Ike discussion personally. He is a kook who ruined his potential by being a loser outside the ring. Lewis was a class above. The same things were said when Tua was going up against Lenny. "The power would destry Lewis". Well, the power never touched him. Would Ike have a punchers chance? Of course he would, but that can be said in any fight. Ike had tremendous power but I don't think he could have landed it on Lenny. Lewis would have kept him outside and pot shotted him with the right hand
Lewis might have got lucky and ko'ed him, but there is no way this fight goes the distance. Lewis never had the stamina to fight at a pace like that for 12 rounds.
Never had the stamina? Lennox was built to go the distance. Why do you think he utilised his jab so much. I hope you aren't basing Lennox's stamina and pace on the Vitali fight because your sadly mistaken if so.

Ike would have destroyed Lewis, and there isn't any shame in looking bad against Byrd. That is why Lewis refused to fight him, not because it would have been too easy or Chris was undeserving.
I doubt that very much. Ike was good but Lennox was a class above and i know now that if Lennox would have fought him that he would have been in the shape of his life. Lennox always took serious fights seriously and Ike would not have been underestimated. Lennox via UD

Never heard of these dudes? I thought you said you were off the pipe?
When Ike was fighting and LEnnox and Evander both had pieces of the title Bobby Chyz said that Ike could beat Evander and LEnnox on the same night.
Again don't hate the Byrd victory...the Chris Byrd that fought Ike was much tougher than the Byrd we have watched the last few years, he was a lot more elusive than anything we see out of Chris today.
Ike was as skilled as any big heavyweight you will ever see!
IT is a god damn motherfucking shame...fuck!
I think Ike would KO Lewis. Like alot were saying, Ike just didn't throw 1 punch at a time or just throw haymakers. He was a skilled boxer/brawler who fought behind a solid jab & punched in combos. He also was an underrated body puncher. I've seen some of his early fights & his fights with Byrd & Tua & he hit them to the body excellent. Lewis has never faced an opponent with speeed/power. It was always one or the other. Ike was still on the rise when he was locked up so we'll never know.
I think Ike would have had a decent chance against Lewis. Too bad he doesn't get his next parole hearing until Dec. 2007, it would have been interesting to see him against todays HWs.
and dont let your hate for Lewis lead you into acting like a dumbass....Oh wait too late
Wrong, sissy....I don't hate Lewis.
Why don't you check the "Lewis vs. Frazier" & "Where Does Lewis Rank" threads.
You'll see I respect him, totally.
See....that's why you're a nutlicker.....you take the "hater" route when someone isn't shining on your boy.
Jose....
uh...please go & watch Ike-Byrd again.
Ike was controlling that fight....applying steady pressure, without getting frazzled....& landing shots with more frequency as the fight wore on.
Then he BLASTED the guy into tomorrow. Nobody has done this to Byrd since.
Against the PUZZLE Byrd was back then.....you couldn't ask for a better performance.
Don't let your love of Lewis, which leads to FEAR of Ike, lead you into talking out your ass, bro.
and dont let your hate for Lewis lead you into acting like a dumbass....Oh wait too late
how would lewis have handled ike's power, chin and speed?
how would ike handle fightinng a giant that can box and move?
questions we'll never know the answer to.... i give lewis the edge, because against the top guys, lewis was at his best.... he only lost when he wasnt supposed to... if lewis boxed, jabbed and moved on ike, how would ike react? ike never faced anyone like lewis for us to gauge against...
Yes Ike's legend continues to grow, but I would stake my mortgage that he destroys Lewis and very early at that. Keep in mind folks that Ike was still a baby when he fought Tua and Tua had a lot of fights under his belt. That is one of the greatest heavyweight fights you will ever see. The decision is definately debatable, it could have gone too tua but let me say this..that was by far by far by far the best David Tua we have or will ever see. Ike may have ruined Tua that night, he was never the same, he was never willing to commit like he did that night. Ike took some of the biggest bombs Tua has ever landed and was fine, granted a Lewis right hand is always tough too take no matter hwo you are but Ike's chin would have been just fine. Don't hate the Byrd victory, I was there and I watche dhim destroy Byrd, and as others have already pointed out no one has done that to Byrd since! When Lewis got in trouble against VT in the second round, had that have been Ibeabuchi it would have been over..immediately. I can't see Ike waisting anytime with Lewis therefore this fight would no way have gone past five and most likely not have gone past three. Ike in a complete destruction!
scap....
Nice post !
You're right...Ike was still coming along, & had a great trainer in Curtis Cokes.
He was only going to get stronger, & better, over time.
